    Running his conservation foundation.

Mark Martin would have been the guy for that car. Being a Ford dealer and all.

Economic's have required the King do several things he would normally resist. Kyle still wears the black stripe. :lol3

I think the only way Busch does get that ride is if Ford forces it. And they may. It could be good for them both.

Elliott is busy getting his son's career up and going, he has not been interested in a full schedule because of that. Or so he has said.

I think Jeremy Mayfield is uncommitted at the moment.

He are, and a well liked young lad in the garage and media center. He will say he is Tasmanian though. I am not fully aware of those politics, but I know he thinks it important. "Tasmanian Devil" is his nickname.

Kurt Busch made his deal with Finch. He will be in the 51 car. Most likely a good fit as Finch is a rough and tumble guy who will have no problem dealing with Kurt.

Out of all of the backmarkers I can't ever seem to figure out how Jeff Burton gets to drive anything. I bet Ward makes fun of him for getting pushed around by Jeff Gordon. :lol3

Saw that earlier at work...howsaboutthat? Never thought I'd see a Busch back in a Hendrick car. :huh

He is a really nice guy. Used to live here on the GC and yes, Tasmanians are very proud of being Tasmanian. :huh

Robby Gordon is kicking ass in the Dakar this year.

And it appears while he is away, a team closing will put him back in the top 35. Small wonders, eh? And to the snit on the Dakar thread about this one......well you know, I don't have to say it.

    Off the couch!!

"I had the privilege last year of sitting on the couch at home and watching all the [Cup] races, and I saw how competitive their race cars were on a weekly basis," Almirola said. "That was a big factor in my decision to come over here to Richard Petty Motorsports."

The Hummer was his Dakar build; originally with Chevy Corvette racing engines from the factory endurance team (aka LeMans) I have no idea what motor is in there now. Lord knows its not a 6.3l diesel. I think he had a Chevy Trophy Truck at the same time he had a Ford NASCAR team. They are separate teams. In Cup, I believe he has had Chevy, Dodge, Toyota and Ford all in the last six years. And even while running a Dodge last year, the announcers would routinely state that Roger Penske had the only Dodge team in the garage.

    Robby gets no respect.

    Interesting rule change.

I remember Jeff Gordon getting hung out to dry on a final restart when he thought he had reached an agreement over the radio, but his "partner" bailed on him.

I wonder what the practical effect of this will be? On restarts, will drivers search out teammates or "engine mates", regardless of their position in the field?

Or will they find partners of convenience, regardless of affiliation, who are closest to them in the field?

I heard Carl Edwards talking about how the drivers were trying to develop hand signals to allow them to draft without radio communications.

I think it will go back to the days of old, where drivers tried to make deals before the race, but as the race went on, those plans might change. In the last 5 laps, there are no teammates or friends anyway, it is get as much as you can, and run with whoever offers the best chance to win or finish in the highest position.

Patrick can't put a deal together to run the Indy 500 this year and commits to the Coke 600 since she doesn't have anything to do that day.

2013 Ford for a return to brand identity:
