You can still download them. You just can't link them to forums. They're not lost. Yet. I wouldn't wait too long.

I am not computer savvy so I will have to do my research on how to get the photos uploaded to something else.

My Craven Co. Photo is on PB too. Ugh. :becca

I've found another host - postimage.io - that's working very well so far. I know a lot of folks are just attaching pics vs. linking them, but I prefer to link them for a number of reasons. Postimage is a little more rough around the edges as far as features go, but it's fast and there are no ads.

Smugmug might work for you. It's 30 or 40 a year, but unlimited storage at full size. I've used it for 10 years or so, no complaints.

SmugMug is an excellent option. Baldy owns that site as well. Anything you spend on it goes into the pocket of the guy that runs this site.

Up until today I have had no issues with Photobucket but that changed suddenly. I have been with Photobucket since 2004 so you can imagine the number of pictures and videos that I have uploaded so far. I know the day of free photo storage and sharing is gone but now my biggest concern is how do I get what I have away from Photobucket to where I can transfer it to something else.

And I have to now make the trip out to Craven County since I can't pull out my file photo. It may end up being a night tag since my free time is very limited for longer rides.

If your file pic is on PB, you should be able to download it to your PC and post from there. You don't need to make another trip.

At the album level, you should see this menu on the right side. Click there to download that entire album as a .zip file.

If you have the exact picture open you want to use, you can download it to your PC individually. Look at the menu on the right again and you'll see this. You can download a single picture that way.

One thing, if you're going to attach pictures. Click on the button that says Full Size. Default is Thumbnail.

    Happy now. :hide

It was pouring and dark. I was lucky I could even post it. Rain was messing with the screen as I posted.

Good idea. Always keep a backup of stuff you'd prefer not to lose. Every computer/hard drive/anything mechanical has a finite life.

I have one for my old computer to I have a bunch of family pictures and I need to get out of it the hard drive starting to make all sorts of strange noises so I bought the wife a new computer in December I just haven't gotten around to downloading all of the old pictures off of it.
I'm actually afraid to for afraid I'll screw something up. :D
