Shot from the deck of the ferry, just for fun. This is not the tag pic.
And one more to show that the dry part of the road is fine. There is gravel embedded in that dirt. The wet part can be slick, but the foundation is good...
Nice placement Budda. Was going to get one of those one time before just not there.
Yep, I know the one you're talking about. This was my first time across this one.
Nice location for the Bertie county tag. Now to find the time to head out there for the grab.
Anybody out riding on this chilly weekend?
Unless it is riding for an un titled dual sport....NO!
I would be riding but busy running errands with the wife..... The tagging thing(especially the NC tag) takes a backseat.
Wow I figured you Tag mad NC guys would have been up to at least Wake County by now...
Now this was an adventure. What a great tag. Excellent placement. Picked this up on the way out to get the NC TOR. Had a fantastic conversation with the ferry man about motorcycles and his life going back and forth across the river. Really really interesting tag and excellent adventure. (Got to figure out where to post my alpaca and buffalo pictures)
Best part was getting the bike muddy on the way to the ferry. Wasn't expecting this much mud (or deep water to cross) but was thrilled to find it...and to play in it.
A w e s o m e !!!
I know a number of you are waiting for the Bladen County tag. I'll be putting it up within the next couple weeks. Got to free up some time to ride down there first.
Well at this point not me anymore. If I do get the TAG I will have to borrow a bike to do it. Glad you grabed the TAG and had a good ride doing it and the NC TAG.
Anxiously awaiting the rush for the Bladen County tag and pondering several nice DS rides to find the perfect spot for the Brunswick tag.
Best bring your knobbies
Just make sure it is legal.
We have state roads that you would be hard pressed to get a stock 4wd through. But those would not qualify as maintained. Still have a few that are maintained that would be a fun DS excursion.
Dont make it too hard for the full on street bikes. They seem to be the main mount for the ABC TAG game. I would hate to see it stall because it was too far off a paved road.
Bladen County is most likely going to be "off Road" but on publicly accessible state maintained roads. Not much in Bladen County except Forest...and since it's been a wet muddy winter thus far, you all might want to prep those 50/50 tires. On the Bertie County Tag anything less than a 50/50 would have had a difficult time making it to the ferry. I got fun muddy crossing the slippery muck and foot deep water holes.
If I put the tag where I'm thinking I'm headed, anyone looking for a good DS ride and available side excursions is going to enjoy going after it.
Nah, my FJR made it through OK. Did get sideways on me once...
So... Gonna be awful purty this weekend.
If Bladen Co. gets posted, like I think (hope) it will, anybody want to meet fro a group tag ride? Would be fun to grab it, and swing down to Brunswick to place it. Maybe hit some extra dirt along the way? I'll be on a DS this time....
