Now this takes it up north to Mooresville, which is some good riding. Tempting indeed...
We know who to bug for cheap tickets next season...
I haven't been to a race in way too long. Need to go to a few next year.
If he is like the rest of us, the workers behind the scenes that do all the work and get no perks for it, he won't get the freebe tickets.
I could scape up some allstar tickets on the free deal next year. Maybe even some truck race tickets.
Yea, it sucks I got spoiled one of my good friends and her husband both worked for NASCAR back in the day.
She did the PR side at the races, so she basically met famous people, gave them passes and tours of all the pit areas etc. I forget exactly what he did.
But both of them traveled to every race.
She could hook me up with at least 1 usually up to 4 good seats and pit passes to any race I wanted to catch. It was awesome.
But after they had a kid, they both quit to stop traveling. Bums.
That said, I'd be all about taking the kid to the all star race or a truck race next year. Just so she can see one. I still maintain even if you don't like racing everyone should go to at least one. :)
Well the Ascot will be down for a while. Clutch cable broke on the way to work this morning. Almost ran into the back of a car when it snapped. :eek1
Guess the V max will be the main transport for a while.
That shouldnt be too hard to replace. How much is the cable? That reminds me. I need to lube all of mine. What is the best way to do it?
I had every intention of grabbing this tag this morning. I woke up, it was a gorgeous day, and I figured I'd hit the gun store before heading out for the tag. On the way, I decided to go down a road I'd never rode before, and the next thing I knew I'd spent two hours tooling around in the Moore County countryside. I had so much fun that I went home, grabbed the Ural and the dog, and did it all over again on a the Ural. I'll call it a win.
Nah it isn't hard but I have to find one for a 30 year old bike first. The ball at the end of the cable in the lever pulled off so lubrication would not have helped in this case. I just start at the top and spray WD-40 down it while working the cable. There is a cable luber tool they sell. Not sure how it works though.
I will find a cable and order it when I have the cash. At least I have a back up bike now. (until I find someone that wants to buy it)
I know NC-Okie's a lot closer than I am as far as dealer connections go, and not sure if there's any other dealers closer...but Parts Unlimited and Motion Pro both offer clutch cables for your Ascot. PU #K28-5502K for $11 and Motion Pro #02-0106 for $17 so not too expensive. I sell a lot of both brands and they both are good quality.
Hope that helps...
Yeah I have the parts unlimited #'s already. I looked up most of the parts like that up previously so I would have them on hand. It's more a matter of getting to the store, while they are open, to pay for it and having the extra cash to do that as well. The prices are the same about everywhere. $10.95 plus shipping. Mail order is a dollar cheaper for the cable but $3 more in shipping so local is the cheaper route.
If I can sneek out early Thursday I should be able to order it then or Friday I hope. Either way I still have the Yami to ride just not as comfortable.
Mopar grabbed the NHRA ProStock Championship , hope they can add NASCAR
We all have our fingers crossed. 20 point lead. Even if jimmy win the race we only have to finish 15 to win the championship. But it's racing and anything can happen.
Grab, Penske Racing in Mooresville NC. This place is huge. Never knew it was so big. It must house all of his racing ventures under one roof?
Will post the tag shot soon. I am on my way to SC to grab the North America tag and hopefully the upstate SC too. On the fast bike today , got a lot of ground to cover.
Yes we have 3 indy car teams, 2 cup teams and 2 nationwide teams. 450,000 square feet. I hope you came inside.
I did not try to come inside today but I am definately going to come back. What do you do there? It is a very impressive looking place.
Parkway bridge, take rt 80 off rt 70 past lake tahoma (buck creek road). Follow to buck creek gap.
That is a great ride.
