I'm looking for one. Does anybody know of any good ones? I heard the area around Rainbow Falls was good. I don't need (or can even) go all Toni Bau, but I like a challenge. Thanks!

When I think trials, I imagine an open space with some obstacles. I think the limited legal riding in the front range boils down to a handful of trails.

Rainbow Falls is pretty tame from what I remember. One trail has a steep hillclimb with a turn in the middle, but that's about it.

770 in Rampart is much more technical in spots with a couple tight squeezes between rocks and a slick hillclimb with no runup. You could ride both from the Rainbow Falls parking lot.

Storm Mountain has some technical hillclimbs with big rocks you could play on.

Penrose Commons is all rock once you're off the main trail. It's a common destination for Jeeps and the like. It's kind of a hike, but probably one of your better options for technical riding.

Post in the Trials section. I'm sure some of the RMTA members are practicing near you somewhere.

Head up to the Spring Creek Jeep trail in Dumont CO. Good stuff to play on in there.

You could come to Texas Creek between Canon City and Salida next weekend for the National Trials Event . Probably about 2 hours drive from Denver. It's not open to trials without a permit from the BLM. But Turkey Rock, which isn't much further down Hwy 50, is.

Yes and come meet the RMTA folks and some are from Denver. We could use some help both Saturday and Sunday April 28, 29. Come see the nations best compete for national titles. Bring yer trials bike that weekend, camp out and have fun!

Great suggestions all! I am planning on heading out to the nationals next weekend with my daughter, hopefully I'll meet some of you there. I just sent my check to RMTA about 2 weeks ago, after I went to the fun ride in Sedalia. I was one of the guys wandering around without a bike (I hadn't got my Montesa yet). I met a few of the clubbers and had a ball watching :) I just may head up to spring creek. I'll run it by my riding buddies. That looks like fun. I go to Rampart all the time, 770 is my favorite. I've never ridden on the east side of Turtle Mountain though, just the west side from 676. Love that trail. My buddies don't like it. They like to be all gonzo fast all the time, so when it comes time for some technical stuff, I get to be out front that day!
