Just out of curiosity and clarification, are you talking about hitching a free ride with someone coming this way or offering to pay for someone to haul it over? My guess is that gas for that trip would be in the $225 range and an overnight hotel for another $100. Another few bucks to cover fast food along the way. Cost for the driver would be about $400. Again, just wanting to understand what your asking.

By the way, I second that you can have confidence in Steelpony. I've bought from him before and he keep really good care of his things.

I think he is wanting someone who has space in a pickup or on a trailer that happens to be headed towards Charlotte to haul the bike for him... But my reading comprehension isn't what it could be... :lol3

(And he bought the bike from dan650, another standup guy... Steelpony is just helping get it moved.)

Kingsize, you sure you didn't hit your head on that high side?!?!? :lol3

BW, no I am sure I DID land head first but in this case, that's not the problem, I've just been limited in time lately and only getting snap shots of what is going on. My bad, carry on.

Nah, you got it right :D

    Anyway, what he said...

I have lots of options and they all involve 400 bucks including an inmate bringing it for $400.
Nothing wrong with that and much preferred over some kind of uShip option.

Well, Dan had an inmate who's a truck driver that said he could get a load up to Charlotte
and help him out (well, he was helping ME out but Dan made the posting) for free.
Anyway, we've been working on making that happen so for the last week or so, I've been thinking
free or at least much less but now, it seems like it might not happen or be delayed for several weeks
'cause he had to take some loads to the west coast instead.

So, the best answer is, as little as possible obviously. I can pay but I'll also need riding gear which I don't have
so yes, I'm hoping to find someone coming this way (or close) anyway. They help me out and I make a contribution to the gas cost or something.

I have been talking to a guy about a Multistrada in the Charlotte area and scheming on it this week. I live in Jackson area and will most likely drive up with my trailer to pick it up. I will be happy to haul yours for some gas money but what will I be hauling?

Of course, just my luck. I just settled with a guy (last night) to bring it :(

Oh well, can't complain, he gave me a killer price considering he's going there to get it
    and driving back.

THanks though and I have to update my posts now that I have it settled.

Of course, I KNEW that I'd find someone right after I settled with the other guy :)

Ooo, I'm as excited as a two peckered owl...

Yep, he called some time ago telling me he'll be here around 8-9.

Again, what Danny said. Thanks everyone for helping out :)

Danny, I'm looking at the pic of your truck and seems you lost a bike son...

By the way Danny, when he called me to tell me he's on his way, he told me the bike looked really nice.

I think you must've washed her between the time when you took the pic you sent me last night (of the handle bars)
and when you loaded the bike up :D

I heard he always washed her daily. I threatened to throw some dust on his bike one time, but was afraid!! :D

So, the bike fairy arrived last night around 9pm (NO pun intended bro) :D

Bike looks good and everything is tight as hell and I even like the little bell
that was hanging underneath the frame :)

Of course, Danny included the sink on this one but, was too damn cheap to include
a couple of screws for my tag so I took a bit of steel wire and wired the tag to the bike.
    Is this legal? :evil

By now, I was all sweaty and didn't want to wear my new helmet but I can't find the other one.
Going apeshit till I realized it was in the truck from when I drove around, trying SCOOTERS
    a few weeks ago.

(Gonna get one of those napkins for the head before I start wearing the new one)

So, I fire this bad boy/girl up and the sound is sweet. I like it.

I take off and shift into second way too early. It didn't like it. Apparently there's enough juice in this
thing that I can stretch out first gear a little longer.

So, I decide to go to my local gas station that's maybe a mile or so away from my house and lo and
behold, the po po's pull me over.

Apparently I was *ehem* going a "little" too fast.

Well, I'm going to make this story short.

They checked my license, saw the wires on the tag, didn't like the fact that I was going 45 over the speed limit
and promptly cuffed me and hauled me off to jail. Made me park and leave the bike at the gas station but on the side so it was out of the way and this morning when I got bailed out. I got to the gas station and the bike was gone..

So, the moral of the story is:

    Put your tag on properly.
    Don't ride too fast.
Do NOT mouth off to the cops and..
Make sure you leave your bike where people can see it...

Well, I guess I should be happy that they didn't beat my ass up....

    Comments? :cry

The guy at the gas station whom I know snapped these pictures...
