I've just returned from the far northern part of the Grand Canyon. Plenty of scenic riding in the Kaibab National Forest. Like, endless amounts of dirt/gravel/sand roads. Not technical, but scenic. The paved road south of Jacob Lake will be closing soon for the winter. We stayed at DeMotte campground, and it will be closing on the 14th (IIRC) of this month. Death Valley will have good weather for awhile yet. We always go there for Thanksgiving, but a little earlier would be better; we've run into snow on the passes. All kinds of riding there, from moderate to technically scary. A lot of good riding from Panamint Springs, which is just west of the actual national park. Both places have very little traffic once you're off the beaten path.
