I'll probably end up driving as well. I didn't make it too far on the KLR last year riding. My plan was to take the metro parks all the way there. I didn't even make it out of Summit county before I decided it was too slick in the snow. If you thought Mefos were bad on wet pavement, they are completely worthless on snow. I also don't have heated gear, but that may change.

I'll be going to the IMS this weekend. Probably Friday evening after work.
I'll ride if it looks to be dry. Current weather predictions will have me in 4 wheels but too far ahead to be that accurate yet. So I'm hoping.

I'll be leaving work early Friday to head up to the IX. I should be there by 3pm. I'm leaving from Stow if anyone wants to car pool or something.

Ponce is a great place. The waves break off the jetty making for fun rides. Spent a couple winters there, bet you had a great time.

Yes, the first picure was taken near that jetty. The second was from Canaveral National Park. The weather was excellent last week. What a rude shock this morning!

I'm at BW most Saturdays from 10:30am till 4 or 5pm. Let me know if you want to ride while your son is in lessons. TomV and I will try for a 7 springs trip sometime this winter if you are interested. I'll post it up here when the time comes.

I've never been to Seven Springs but have been to Holiday Valley many times. Do you like SP better than HV? It seems as though you northeasterners are close to the same distance from either one.

I'll do both but probably prefer HV. 7 Springs is something different and I usually go there once a year. I grew up in Upstate NY and frequented HV when I was a kid. I also had a season pass to Bristol Mountain every year I was in college and living in Rochester. I was a snowboard instructor at Swain ski are in NY for a couple of years after college before I moved to Michigan. My wife and I used to drive to HV almost every weekend before we had kids. We never skied locally until after we had kids. We taught them both to ski at 2.5 or 3 years old and by 5 they were both snowboarding. I taught my wife to snowboard while we were dating and we went to Breckenridge for our honey moon. The last couple of years none of us have skied at all. We are hoping that in a couple of years our daughter will be fully up to speed and we can start taking some ski vacations as a family. Anyways, you just got more than you asked for. We'll try to put together a day trip and I'll post it here when it happens.

Both HV and 7 have fun terrain. I had a season pass for 5 years at 7 but the snow has been so bad I gave it up last year. We have been to Vermont numerous times and to Summit County, Co. My buddy lives in Breck and knows all the good pow stashes.
Kind of a zoo at BW on Saturday, isn't it? Better than not going at all and the kids love it though.
Anyway, nice pic in the ADV stickers thread RBS.
Let me know when you want to go.

Yes, Dry Tortugas National Park. We took the "Fast Boat" from the pier in Key West. It was a full day outing. When you arrive at the park they give you snorkel and fins and tell you to be back at a certain time. Toured the fort and learned the story of Dr. Mudd. (of killing Lincoln fame). That was a great time and well worth it.
