I found it through Thumper Talk, went on a ride that B-Mac set up at his place when he lived by Logan at Wayne National Forest, went with Tom V and MGorman and Swingset who I knew from the threads, and meet a couple of other guys that rode with us or over from C-bus. Stuck around since I enjoy the "gang". I don't ride much since I have a plated dirt bike, but I hope to get a big dual sport/ADV bike in the future. I grew up racing bikes and ran some GNCC quads for a while, before going back to a bike.

Thinking about changing it,maybe something more appropriate like "at this point I'm largely indifferent, been just about everywhere else it's cheap I bought a house have really good friends my commute is easy haven't thrown in the towel just yet things are alright here " maybe I'll see if Kevin is taken and just go with that

A little FYI for you, after several issues with ethanol fuel in my bikes this summer.I remembered reading about a web site for pure gas,I looked up the site and found that Berts Marathon on high st in Orrville sold pure gas,91 octane 0% ethanol, I heard they also have a station in Dalton. Since Orrville is closer to me I went down there today to get a can filled and see if it was true before I posted something here. I got 4.6 gals for $20.00 which was $1.06 or so over the regular pump gas price. I asked and they said they always carry it ,not a seasonal thing. It is on the side of the station not at an island(I believe they used to sell K1 from that pump). Anyway if you have some bikes that you aren't riding a lot or putting away for the winter, it might save you some aggravation in the future.

The photos drew me in. Vintage bike pictures from google searches, then ride reports. Then, Regional Forums....

Meeting a few people cinched it. No pretentions, helpful, very funny, most know the difference between good beer and swill. Many all weather riders.

I bought a used KLR off of Blimpman (really a first class guy) when I decided that I didn't want to trailer a bike to ride, and wanted to try onroad legally for a change. He sent me links to this place, as well as ThumperTalk and CavemanRiders.

Side note: The house he was living in when I purchased the KLR was built in an area that I was single tracking in during the 70s.

He's the best I know of, could be others but I don't know about them.

    Good luck,

    Dave

So you have Brian's KLR eh? I know it well. I was at a party tonight with two guys that bought bikes off of him and we were talking about Blimpman and his rotating garage when he was in Ohio.

Yep. He must have kept if for a few years though. It had around 13,000 miles on it when I got it. Everything was already done, and turnkey when I got it.

Yeah the KLR was his go to travel bike for a few years. It was the low displacement bikes he changed as often as his shirts.
