Groovy thread. Our DVD player is not currently speaking to the surround sound/audio doohickey, and we've been running really low on streaming content.

Warning: Content may included repeated movies, because I didn't read this entire thread. Also, I am a girl, so expect some chick choices. In no particular order...

    The Big Lebowski
    March of the Penguins
    Best In Show
    Friday
    Boys Don't Cry
    Full Metal Jacket
    Au Revoir Les Enfants
    Sleepers
    Steel Magnolias
    Babies
Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil
    Dangerous Liaisons
    Fierce People
    The Right Stuff
    Sunshine Cleaning
    Julie & Julia
    Blazing Saddles
    Strange Brew
    The September Issue
    Vanity Fair
    A Fish Called Wanda

    Blah blah blah...

PS - UP is the most emotionally draining movie I have ever seen. :)

Not on instant, but Pink Floyd: The Wall, under the appropriate mind altering influences, trumps UP:deal:evil

And for the Kiddos or the "Kiddo inside of you" this "Animated" Shaun_the_Sheep series is really good.

The PBS series "Carrier". Ten part series about the folks working on the USS Nimitz.

    4 stars plus!

    Cheers,

If you like Humphry Bogart from the 50's

    Beat the Devil(6.6)

Although already mentioned, it is worth checking out Top Gear. Seasons 10,11,12, & 13 are available to stream. These are the ones from BBC. Wayy better IMO than the U.S. copy.

british gangster movie, rise of the foot soldier. Based on a true story, hard to understand, very violent but a good story with great characters.

Just finished this. I'd say the lead character is interesting... the first half was good. But the second was all tie in to the infamous Range Rover Murders and lost it's way. Three stars at best. Probably two.

Taking about a Man with a sense of ADVenture, I love to see his bloody fingers when he is working in some of the shoots (actually the DVD is even better, the outtakes are awesome)

Ps: I got to see him at Stanford and at the DeYoung museum when He came to san francisco, the guy is a absolute rock star with so much charisma and charm but also really gentle and simple, well it reflects on his art a true Genius

Unmistaken Child (7.3) Docudrama: "Filmmaker Nati Baratz follows the spellbinding journey of Tibetan Buddhist monk Tenzin Zopa as he travels far and wide to identify the child who is the reincarnation of his deceased master, Lama Konchog."

Amelie (8.6) French: "When impish gamine Amélie (Audrey Tautou), who lives alone, finds a long-hidden trove of toys behind a baseboard in her apartment, she's inspired to repatriate the items, an impulse of generosity that sparks more benevolent acts. A celebration of life and love."
