    Went off for a two week trip this last September on my KLR. Bike ran like a watch and averaged 61 MPG.

    This was late September and was cool most of the time. It ranged from mid 30s (Great Basin NP @ altitude) to low 70s at lower elevation near Capitol Reef, during the day. I was caught in rain three different days but in the form of thundershowers. One evening in Torrey I was out 'till midnight walking back from a restaurant in shorts and a tee shirt and wasn't cold.

    I took a Tourmaster electric vest and it saw a lot of use.

    Thanks. As a Vermonter I have a real hard time enjoying myself in anything hotter than 80F, so it's nice to know there are times of the year I could actually enjoy myself out there
