Saw one of these in the parking lot at work and it belongs to a new guy who also rides the Piaggio MP3 I've seen parked there. He claims to like odd bikes and has commented favorably my Pacific Coast, so it must be true.

NOOOO! You cut it right as you were taking off at the beginning (post up the full video!) and in the second video you totally threw me off. I though you were on the side of a mountain and i was thinking how is going to do a ride by....good depth perception trick.

Is anybody using hand guards? If so, please post a picture and your thoughts.

Sturdy and connected to the bar at both ends. These are Cycra Probend CRMs.

How are the test articles obtaining 47 mpg at 70 mph?

I just finished a 200 mile ride from Savannah to Daytona and got 67.42, with my glove box loaded and doing 75 mph in a headwind. I'm also 6'3".

Maybe those weren't fully broken in?

Ya know, with an ECU flash, Power commander, can, air filter and 15 tooth CS sprocket,
I bet this nifty bike would have a nice boost. Prolly close to 60bhp.
I mean if it's there, why leave it on the table gathering dust.

Changing gearing does not affect power output in any way :deal

    I didn't say that.
I said all the things I mentioned would give it a nice boost and maybe 60bhp.
Going one tooth down on the CS would merely help acceleration w/o any additional bhp.
    Thanks for the clarification, though.

I think with a 10% increase in power output you might just forget about changing gearing, and opt for fuel economy and fewer vibes at speed instead

Prolly. My power needs are modest. My last ride was a KLR650. :lol3

The NC700X actually displaces 10cc more than the engine in my car. The power of my car is not worth discussing.

It keeps coming up so it must be important to people. It being a need for more horsepower but I don't understand why it's needed when it is at odds with the design goals of this motorcycle. If the people buying this bike wanted more horsepower there are what, six or eight direct rivals in the middleweight class all with more horsepower out of the box. Honda choose a different direction but some folks just don't see that.

That would be a 20% (and more) increase.

PC V is a nice toy, but it's no turbo.
    I don't think you'd get over 4-5hp.
