Nah, leave it. That other thread was all speculation from when it looked like they weren't coming to the US. I just thought I'd mention thread in case you were interested.

Anyway, I'm amazed they are selling base models for $7k. I figured it would carry the usual Honda premium and go for $10k.

economical though, 3.7 gallon gives ~240 mile range

Any idea when these may hit the show room so I can take a look at it? I'm looking to buy a new bike in the spring and this is a nice mix to the versys vs weestrom debate.

Honda's US website lists $8,999 for the DCT ABS model as well as quite a few accessories.

I want to hate it, but I'm finding that to be oddly difficult.

Does $6,999 seem really low for a Honda of that size?

I don't think I'd like having to lift up the rear seat to gas up. I sometimes strap stuff to my rear seat on trips. I guess if that was my only issue I'd get over it. It just seems they could have designed it better to me. It is Honda after all.

They seem to want to sell the DCT ABS version more than the base model.

Nearest competitor probably the Versys at $7,899; the price range for the NC700 brackets that.

Even better yet.... if we can develop a cooling system to keep the keg cool!!!!!

The 21ltr faux gas tank/glovebox would eliminate the need for a top box for most things, hell it evens holds full xl helmet.

Well, they could've put the cap on the side under the seat like BMW did on their F800 models. But that would probably mean the tank would be smaller and people are already complaining it is too small as it is. Every design is a compromise of some sort.

I like it--I thought it was going to be equipped only with the DCT, which would be a deal breaker.

    No automatics for me, sorry.

I get to operate the clutch or no sale.

Only? I don't understand why people keep expecting this thing to be something it isn't. It's a 6,900 dollar commuter that gets damn good mileage while not being a total dog when it comes to power.

We have enough expensive, 100+ hp monsters tearing around the streets. I'm happy to see something more practical being offered for those that want it.

+1 There's a pretty good chance one of these ends up in Iron Garage. It's just one of those bikes I could see myself riding a LOT. No muss, no fuss, just lots of miles.
