Ya they ( K60 ) last a long time on a low HP bike !!!.
I expect to get about 10,000 miles from the rear and 8,000 from the front.
I run the same combo on my wifes GS500 and they are even less worn with the same milage.

If I lower the forks and seat 1" does the very bottom of the bike loose 1" of ground clearance? Or does it not work that way because of the linkage? I'm thinking of lowering my NC700 but want to keep an eye on the ground clearance if I go off road a bit. Thanks, Rj<!-- google_ad_section_end -->

Yup, pretty set on the NC700X as my next bike. As soon as Honda offers a white one in the states I'm going to take a long hard look at my trusty KLR. Lol!

The ad said "new custom". Apparently the dealer set it up with the options and the TKC's. Either for a particular customer who backed out or just as a showroom special.

    Looks like TKC80's .I don't think there is a 17" T63 front or a 150-160 rear.Front TKC's are $120 front and about $150-180 for the rear.

Either way. A pittance in terms of the cost of the bike. Good, cheap call by this dealer to give this bike a much more aggressive look.

I bought a 2012 NC700X in 2012. I also have a 2011 (103) HD RK. The Honda was to be my entry level adventure bike. I liked the Honda storage (the fake tank storage, the saddle bags and the trunk summed to a boat load of storage. The bike looked great. The mileage was generally in the 55-60mpg. I could nurse it near 70 mpg. I did not like the 3.7 gal fuel tank. The overall power was adequate but not robust. I did not like where the fuel filler was located. The filler was under the pillon seat. When I needed gas I had to unload all bags/luggage on the seat. This was a pain in the seat (pun). I traded the bike earlier this month on a 2013 GSW. I spent some jack, but I am much happier.

Some of us that tour on the NCX have figured out luggage and packing solutions that eliminate the problem you had with carrying your luggage on the seat. Congratulations on the new bike - we do ride what we like and what we want.

I agree with most of your analysis. Same complaints. I have logged 2000 miles in the last month touring with it and now feel I have worked out the packing problem, just as dduelin said.
I don't travel with a pillion, but probably could, although the power would lack in the hills and elevation.
I am too cheap to spend the money on a GS, plain and simple. A friend on mine bought a 2013 HD RK and loves it. I figure with the money he spent on the RD, he could have had almost any bike he wanted. I figure I will thrash the NC700X until something comes along that will fill the gap, between the GS and the NC.
I am glad you are happy, I wish sometimes I could bring myself to pay for the bike I wish I had. Just not gonna happen soon.
For now, I will still grin when riding into a sunrise, not because of the bike I am on, just to be on a ride.
