I have a large and the cheek pads are painful. I understand that the pads in the XL WILL NOT fit the large shell. Does Scorpion make thinner cheek pads for the large shell?
According to the website, the large cheek pads can be used in a medium shell for a looser fit(since the pads are thinner).

Im going to put the cheek pads between books to try and compress them . Thanks.

so I unboxed the XL ADX-1 and here's my thoughts
Even though tag inside says "XL" it also lists "60-61cm"
The AT-950 I have says XL, but then says "61-62cm"
The new one does feel tighter. Or it's my imagination...no, it's tighter. But what of that is from close to two season's use?
Looked online and saw no data concerning any difference in shell sizes between US and EU markets

looking further, the EU size chart includes a XXL which is "62-63cm"

My hat size is 7-3/4", which is 24.375" circumference, or 61.9cm
Right between their EU XL and XXL
Gonna try to break it in some and see if it loosens. Would rather have it tight now and perfect a long time than perfect now and sloppy after a while

Two other differences with the ADX-1
The main shield IS Pinlock ready, but it does not come with a Pinlock insert.
The strap is by quick disconnect, not a D-ring. This I like.
    JagLite and 16VGTIDave like this.

Ouch! If my peak becomes snagged on something, i hope it breaks before my neck does...

I've owned a scorpion helmet. Fit and finish/build quality is always way above their price point. If I have a complaint it is that the fit is best if you have the head of an upside down rain drop. The space for the top of the head is wide and round and huge while the space for the lower head is minimal due to oversized cheek pads. As a person with a long oval head I initially felt like the helmet fit fine, lots of pressure on cheeks, until I got home and discovered the top of my head could move side to side at least 1/2 an inch.

If there is anyone out there interested in a BRAND NEW ADX-1 (White, Anime color) in XL let me know...GREAT PRICE SHIPPED to US only

If you think a AT-950 XL is a little big on you, THIS should be perfect for you. The EU version (ADX-1) is a touch smaller in the XL than the USA version.

My AT-950 in XL fit perfectly. The ADX-1 in XL is a bit too tight (like 1cm overall)
