Wow. I mean WOW!
This is one of coolest ever DYI rally bikes I ever seen. Brilliaant!
Is it on TA motor or actual 750 AT?
Yep, and it is not his first one. He has a great sense of style, skill and the courage to commit to it.....and the good fortune to live in a target rich environment.
Thank you. This is an rd04. A 1990 africa twin.
Hi guys, I have set up a new Facebook page for the forthcoming CRF1000 Africa Twin, I will try and keep up with developments as they happen.....
Can't seem to add kinky, but if you search on CRF1000 Africa twin it will come up..
Brilliant! Very impressive, something i may try if Honda disappoints thanks for posting.
Facebook sucks ass
Unfortunately for you, it does work for reaching a large public... But lucky for you, it isn't obligatory!
@ Kitpeg... Googled & added.
I really think this forum needs a 'like' button!!!
I Am Sorry... Couldn't resist either...
Sure quiet in here this rumor is what got me back to Adventure Rider going to drive everyone i know crazy for the next 2 years or so talking about yet another adventure bike the Tiger was the last one lol
Yes very quiet, also considering we haven't seen any spyshots is a little concerning.
You mean after all those incredibly believable pipe dreams emerging a bike would be imminent?
If the BMW HP2 weighs in a 390lb (176kg) dry (shaft driven and that old boxer 1200cc engine incl) cant see why Honda couldnt match or even better the new Africa twin weight wise.
In fact i think the bmw hp2 would give us the best idea of what we can expect if Honda goes the more dirt orientated path and from the sounds of it they are.
I really hope you are right but doubt it. The HP2 was a $20,590 bike in 2005 which is equivalet to a $25,000 bike in 2015. It's almost double what Honda can charge for it. I just hope it doesn't end up beeing a Crosstourer Adv with longer legs, bigger tank and more bling.
The HP2 and SuperEnduro are huge enduro bikes, not Adventure bikes. They're very minimalistic.
A machine named AfricaTwin would have a windscreen, fairings, luggage mounts, big tank.
The KTM 1290 SuperDuke weights 189Kg dry vs the 1190 Adventure R which is 217Kg dry. That's the difference between just an engine, frame, wheels and a small tank vs a touring bike meant to go offroad.
Who determines what an adventure bike is ?
I would probably have a greater adventure on a lighter enduro type bike which allows me to go into deeper into remote areas than a so called 600lb Adventure bike. ( and yes i own both type of bikes)
If Honda took the HP2 core concept and capitalised to it by adding a windshield ,increased fuel and still keeping it around the 200kg mark (wet),we would have a bike many have been waiting for.,A " Adventure Enduro" class bike will be born.
The market place will determine what Honda brings...... and it won't be a hard core Adventure bike 200kg bike. When you say "many have been waiting for"..... I respectively disagree. Only a very few ever actually take their bike into the "remote areas" and the sales volume won't support the effort. Like it or not it's be a down sized Crosstourer designed to meet the needs of the mass global market. Bet ya!!
