Most of us have used 2.2K ohm 1/4 watt resistor when disabling most any sensor/control. Seems to work well.

Gave up on this POS. Bought an Africa Twin, and as soon as I get back to Canada in July, mine's for sale.

Excellent attempt KTM, but you shit the bed on waaaaaay too many issues to attempt to fix. Still love my 450 EXC.

After owning a 950 the list of 'issues' for the 690, as well as the time it takes to fix them is ridiculously lower :lol3

    To each's own! Good luck.

What I need now is content.

Links to posts that have valuable content about mods, explanations of procedures, maintenance, known issues, etc. I'll polish the wiki categories and layout a bit this weekend and will start adding content as we find it.

For now I've created a new thread so we don't spam this one with links to posts/data to be added to the wiki.

    Wiki Thread

Oh, does anyone have a Logo we can use that isn't copyrighted or something? I'm also go to see if I can get some sort of skin for the wiki pages.

My wife offered to make a logo, do you want Her to do it? I've never gotten a response from you, so just making sure I'm not on your ignore list.

Thanks for the support !!.... Its much quicker to fit a resistor than wait for a plug-in cheat to arrive in the post and at about 1 to 2 cents for the resistor is just a tad cheaper too. There is an additional advantage that one is eliminating the plug which can be another possible future failure point..... say no morre says Monty Python.

Gorgeous bike - this is the 690 Adventure that KTM should have built.

Did we want to use 690rider.com for the wiki? I checked and ktm690.info is available.

    HI ALL
well i had my first PITA on the 690 today, having a nice easy ride in mt mee,the 690 stalled with a loud "POP" and a PSHHHHHHH, the sound came from under the air box area,so i had a good look around only to find the rubber boot had came away (see pic) and also the airbox was pushed back towards the battery
bike is a 2012,with less than 2000ks with a akro slip on inc akro mapping.

1, so what would make this happen,
2, is there a fix for this, cos i dont want it to happen again (PITA)
3, has there been a recall for this

You are not alone with this issue - Rally-Raid found this issue on a couple of 690Rs they were preparing for RTW travel and said they reported it to KTM. It sounded like some of the boots were "shorter" than specced Sorry I don't know if there is a factory TB on this issue. I will look around and see if I can find the RR article on this.
