    Because my bike is an 08 there was no beefy collar replacement available. I believe I have one from a Suzuki 1000 on it now.

    is that a recent offering? Rally Raid UK makes them for the 09 and newer but the 08's have a different thread pitch.

    Ok, maybe not different pitch...different though that the 09 and newer collars don't fit. I have not been around the forum too much lately. I will check it out. thanks for the link.

    That's why MuffinMan started the 690 Wiki. In an attempt to sort through all the clutter and flufff and have an easy reference directory, so if you have a good bit of info that every 690 owner should have please let him know so he can upload it.

    mileage has nothing to do with it. Using a screwdriver to adjust those original spindly rings is a recipe for disaster. If you have one of the improved beefier ones you can hack away with it all day with your screw driver.

    Hi all
    great news ... As from today there is a new map for the 690 regards to the stalling and the boot popping off like mine has been doing,

    my bike was in the dealers for that very reason when the info came in from ktm

    so i will let you all know when i get a chance to go for a ride
