I installed a single Squadron light on my Yamaha XT660Z. I put the yellow lense kit on it for daytime conspicuous-ness.

The light is super-bright, so I have it aimed slightly away from on-coming traffic. The light even illuminates reflective signs during the daylight, as I see the yellow tint of the light flashing off the signs as I approach. Take a look at the light bouncing off my car in full daylight. I am very happy with its power and build quality.

The only problem I experienced with this purchase was trying to get the correct wiring and switch kit for the Squadron light. Am I the only one who found the website a bit confusing when trying to order the correct wiring kit for this light?

The BD folks tried to be helpful and mailed me out a switch kit free of charge, after I ordered the wrong stuff, initially.
But the kit they sent, still did not have the correct harness connection to match the one on the Squadron light. I had to jury rig a connection despite the good intentions of BD.

So if you buy the Squadron light for road use, be sure to get a wiring/switch kit that fits this light's plugs, properly.

So how does the SII Combo Light compare with the Double Strykr Vehicle Kit? Are they both approximatly half the output of the Squadron?

The SII and Double Stryk are both equal to half of the Squadron. They all use T6 bin XM-L. The SII and Double Stryk
put out 1800 lumens while the Squadron puts out 3600
Please let me know if you have any other questions
    Thanks

basically what I am trying to compare is my 8" trailtech HID to the Squadron LED... so comparing whatever you may have that is equivalent...

Was looking for a solution to having dual Squadrons, and this is what I came up with. Used the BD dual 4" Fuego mount without the Baja Guard ($55) and a stock XC number plate (~$25, except I already had one); a small piece of 1" aluminum to mount the number plate to the center of the Fuego mount; a cutout tool, grinder and sandpaper to make the cutouts; and some 1/4" hobby trim i got on Amazon.com; and a couple hours of my time. I also installed a dimmer with high beam override on both lights, but it failed (unit never worked right). BD is sending me a new unit now. Still prepping the bike for a trip to Baja, so haven't really tested things out yet, but it's solid and the lights seem decent. I'm moving from a dual Fuego HID setup to this setup for some weight savings and to be able to use a dimmer (the bike is CA plated). I can't say that the Squadrons are any more or less bright than the Fuegos, but will check them out side by side when I get the Fuegos mounted on the other bike in the picture.

because the number plate is tilted forward a bit, i now route the brake line behind the plate with a loose zip-tie to keep it from catching on anything.

I've got a 5/32" hex key o-ring'd to the little support so i can make angle adjustments, if needed

and finally...since it kind of looks like eyes

Interesting that the picture shows the squadron to be as bright as the ONX with the same beam pattern.

Yes they are very similar we are planning to take more pictures to show the difference. In person there is greater noticeable difference. The Squadron picture and 1 cell OnX were taking on two different nights in the same location.

Bought 2 squadrons and a single 8" OnX from Baja Designs.
Mounted this setup removing 2 Baja Design pre-runner hid driving lights mated to 2 Cibie super Oscar halogen 100w driving on my Tacoma truck and there is no comparison with the output of LED. Latest technology and small footprint on bumper is simply amazing. Very powerfull equally spread beam that reaches far out. People on freeway 5 southbound to Tijuana probably thought it was a border patrol helicopter "chasing pollitos" behind their bumper kind when i turned them on last night while driving to Mexico:D.

ON my super enduro have 2 suadrons that replaced the rigid dually d2s.
THe rigids where pushed to a slower yamaha kodiak 4x4 quad.
    Thanks again Mike.
Baja Designs is the king of lights.
I have always equipped my cars throughout my life with almost all lights ever manufactured:
Cibie, Marchal, Ducellier, Carello,KC, Hella, Wipac, Piaa,Lucas, Lightforce, Bosch, Baja Designs, Rigid, OSram...
Again lates led technology is the way to go

Give us a real dial dimmer (handlebar mountable?) instead of the chincy keychain remote and I'll buy one. :deal
