I would imagine the price is more likely to be around the Pegaso range than the RXVs
While it's cool a manufacturer is making a new street legal, thumper based dualsport ride...
I can't see dishing out $10k for it. It's a liquid cooled 650 thumper, fer crumps sake! There is nothing on this bike that we haven't seen before.
Does anyone else think that the real world stock HP will be a wee bit less than 55hp? I love factory HP claims. They're almost as accurate as the advertised weight!
poor model... seems like a TOURATECH ORYX...
a bike that is a TT600R refresh... but much more expensive...
if they should have the DERBI brand on... no one have interest...
My guess is that these new 650's will be in the $7K range.
But it's a guess. Let us enjoy the new toy feeling for awhile before engaing in the "But I like my 20 year old fading to pink DR650L!" "FI bikes suck" "ABS is for woosies" and "It comes with a 3yr warrenty" discussions for later.
Leave the faithful to their lusting.
Actually those mods have great specs... They just cost WAY to much given the high base price of the platform.
The XChallenge seems to line up with intentions of the Oryx... stock. That is a pretty exciting development in my mind.
Let the Kool-Aid drinking begin....
BMW has launched a completely new series of bikes all based around a 650cc single cylinder engine.
The G-Series boasts three models, which are all a variation on the enduro/supermoto theme.
The G650 Xchallenge is the enduro version with longer travel suspension and 21-inch front wheel giving it real off-road potential.
The Xmoto is the supermoto version designed to take on the likes of the KTM duke II with 17-inch allow wheels front and rear.
And half way between the two is the Xcountry, a trial-styled city bike with a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear.
All the bikes are around 160kg, will make 53bhp and should cost no more than £5000.
So the F series went to bed w/ some ktm eh?
with aprilia, appearently
Oh crap...just when I thought I had the new bike fetish somewhat under control.
I am getting excited about these bikes - I'm a bit confused as to the motor, though - is it a single or a twin? And is this a 650?
A friend mailed me this picture :eek1
Does anybody know more?
Where might a Koolaid drinker find a cup more of information??
I got the pix and info from Motorcyclenews.com and raptorsandrockets.com. Any more I do not know...
Check them out in the Thumpers forum
Interesting to see they are keeping the sub seat fuel tank. Very low COG.
Buell?? Why not the KTM, Strom, etc etc etc. The Buell is a 1200 as well isn't it?
They're pretty cool bikes. I like that there's no belt on the Motard version (unlike the CS) and they seem lighter.
Now if they can get the new F800GS right it will kill the market. No one makes a middle weight adventure tourer and about the only thing you hear about the big GS is how big it is. I like my 950 but I'd gladly give it up for something that was in the mid 300lb range and made something near 80-90hp. That would be a bike to take on a real adventure. Maybe an HP version that was 330lbs and 90rwhp?
