Hi All - new to the forum - but have been lurking a little. I did notice much discussion regarding Boots. I have had a couple of little off's since coming back to riding after a 30 year hiatus, and this has caused me to look at Boots - and I reckon the way I am going the more armour the better !

Gaerne are now selling the relatively popular, light, cheap and well protected GX1 with a Vibram Sole in Europe. Might just fit right into a nice gap in the market place. I have contacted Atomic Moto if they are going to stock them and I am waiting to hear back.

Is it an illusion or is the toe shift pad on the left boot, or the right boot?

It is not just the pad, the GX1's have plastic around that area on both boots for added protection.

Yes....sorry....the distributor has no plans to import this model right now. Trying to lobby, will be a slow process.

    Hey Brian:

maybe you can comment. I am thinking of putting Vibram soles on my Crossfire TA's for better traction and walking comfort..... do you think that would be possible? Any recommendations on where to go for that service?

It can easily be done, and is the same as applying the OEM sole. Most any MX boot welt type sole can be applied, with most any pattern. Again, an MX boot sole is best, as the overall perimeter must be large enough to cover the entire perimeter of the midsole. IMO using a vibram sole from a hiking boot may wear more quickly because of the rubber compound.

I think Alpinestars has lugged soles.

Go to these guys, they are brilliant: http://www.factoryresole.com/

I disagree that you should have gotten the SRS. Frankly I like the TA more, it is wider, fits better. and is leather instead of Lorica.
