Inmate zamrys has posted a fantastic looking alternative Continental Divide track on GPSXchange. He claims it has 1000 miles of single track and at first glance that looks about right.

He color coded each road segment based on road/trail type which resulted in 900 tracks. So one would have to do some combining to make these usable on a GPS.

His original posting did not have the color, but Countdown went in and colorized them and reposted the results. I started doing this to, but Jerry beat me. He also got it down to 700 tracks.

    The tracks are here:

    in the West forum.

You can see the tracks here in GPS Visualizer:

I can't seem to get the GPS Visualizer to work. The link says "file not found". Is there a different way to view this file?

Looks like Vit pulled the plug on the on the GPS Visualizer link. Now he says to try this

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/DivideSingletrack/

I went there and found it to be a facebook group. At first glance I didn't see any way to see the tracks. Maybe you have to join the group to see them. I didn't go that far.

But you can download them from GPSXchange if you are a member. It is a good site to become a member of. But it sometimes takes a while for them to process your application.

I would post them here, but I don't like reposting other people's tracks.

Thanks for posting this. I hadn't seen it before and have downloaded the tracks. I've ridden the tracks near and around West Yellowstone and enjoyed those rides. I look forward to exploring more this year.
