I know they are not everyone's taste but how close is the front of the tank to stock or safari to fit a Raid Designs kit to it? I still have a Stocker and Safari tank but would like to switch to a midsize tank and a rear mount aux (when needed.

I can't say without giving it a try, but if you buy one of my tanks and the RR kit can't be made to fit properly, I'll let you return the unused tank for a full refund. At least you'll be able to find out risk free, and we'll all know in the end if it works...

Best thing I've ever found for cleaning tanks is WD40... :thumb

Which o-rings are you referring to?

They're pure Viton so they shouldn't deteriorate at all. But if you try pushing the connector into the receiver without lubricating the o-rings a little bit with either WD-40 or gas they can tear.

I've got rebuild kits in stock that are pretty inexpensive. I'll post a link in the morning when I'm back in the office.

Has anyone fitted one of these with any of the following and got any feedback

1/ CPR Rottweiller air intake system.

    2/ Raid Designs rally fairing

    3/ Rally Moto steering damper

None of these seem like an issue just would be good to know first.

    Cheers Wilso!

    Wilso,

I have one of Ken's black tanks fit over the CPR air filter and there are no issues. This is on a 950 SE.

I spoke with Raid (e-mail) and they said to just order the one with the longer side panels (they did not say if this was the Safari or Stock) and trim to fit cleanly. I will be able to tell you but not till May when I fit all mine.

Thanks Guys, going to get one when funds alas it might be longer than first thought...

Bones: I have the standard RD kit on at the moment, if you get a sense of how much longer this is to standard let me know and I can measure up the panels.

    New question:
Can I use a Radiator with Fan from a 950SM on my SE with your tank do you think? The SM uses a dual fan setup that might keep it a little cooler when going slow or in traffic.

I haven't the foggiest idea... but I'm currently testing an RC8 radiator setup! :D

Go ahead and give it a try... let us all know what you find out.

    Ken-

...not sure if this has been asked already...

Will paint adhere to the tank, or will vapors permeate through it?

Can I paint a translucent tank with a viewable fuel sight guage like THIS:

Well, yes and no. Those tanks are made out of the same material as we use; cross-link polyethylene. But they do not look to be painted. I'd guess that they have full coverage stickers on them. The stickers will ultimately come off as the tank slowly breaths. But they could last months before that happens... thus the race teams don't care much.

So I must assume this does NOT fit the IMS plastic adaptors, correct?

Any plans on building one of these filters for the plastic IMS tanks? I would think there is a decent market for these fuel filters....
