By now it was getting on in the afternoon, so we buzzed for home. It was down to 2 degrees when I rolled in the drive. I think a good time was had by all.

was taken between New Germany and Caledonia on an old rail line. Plenty of these trails exist across Nova Scotia for folks looking to get off the regular stuff.
Here is another example of a rail line that leads to New Germany from Middleton, so you can see plenty of lines connect to each other.

Now I just need to figure out how to embed the videos on the RR, without going out of ADV.

What unbelievably great weather for the first day trip of 2012. Slophil and I met up in Wolfville for a quick snack,
and then proceeded to follow the side roads towards Windsor and then eventually Walton on the Bay of Fundy.
The normal temperature for this time of year is 4 C so 28 C was a bit of a shock to the system.

We stopped by a new winery store at an old vineyard location but the store was closed.
While snapping shots of the old building the owner drove up and invited phil and myself in to look the place over.
This used to be an old church that was located in Walton. It was barged from Walton to Newport.
Here are some pictures of the inside and the great host. Phil bought a bottle and will pipe in on his opinion of the grapes.

Location - 80 Avondale Cross Road, RR#2 Newport, Nova Scotia.
Open Fri to Sun in Winter, 7 days of the week starting sometime in May until Sept I believe.

A small comment about this area for the riders on ADV. Lots of curves, hills, and scenery.
    Questions. Didn't think so.

Have to add it was an excellent day, really had a great ride for the 1st of the year.

Here's my 2 cents on the wine, it's a very nice, smooth, medium red, crafted (word borrowed from the back of the bottle) from Leon Millot grapes from their own vineyard and Abercrombie Farm down on the South Shore. Very flavourful and I will definitely be purchasing more of their product. Nova Scotia wines and wineries are becoming much more plentiful and range from good to excellent, this wine is an example of one of the better ones. IMHO :clap

RV'd with Fred Green in Middleton and made our way to Morden on the Bay of Fundy. Nice day with temps reaching 8 C. With the lower temps you could see across the Bay and pick out a lot of details on the other side.

Lots of signs - too bad we can't read - I wonder what it says. :D
