And one might assume that those that do can't say much about them since the software is still in development. :norton

A safe assumption. NDA's are very strict.

I was about to pull the trigger on a Montana about a month ago and happened to see the info on the Monterra. It looks like it's the same specs as the Montana but with dual satellite systems, and android based, so hopefully that will open up a little bit Garmins closed systems?

I guess I have to wait another month or two, maybe I'll get one around christmas time, or wait till a few units get out there and let the early adopters be guinea pigs.

still loving my 276 but know it won't last forever. :(:

I'm in pretty much the same boat. Except, my 276 just died. Cry.

And.... I want to go for a ride before the summer is over. Think I am getting the Montana to give the new one a longer debugging period.

It has not been released yet, so any units out there are pre-production.

I played with one of these Monterra's at REI last month, nice toy, I might get one sooner or later, I have the 24k Topo maps ready to install when I get one! I like the Bluetooth option and the built-in FM radio and NOAA weather radio with SAME alerts!

    Some more info please!
How does the search work? Is it relatively quick or slow as molasses? Can you sort the search list after it comes up?
Can I search along current route?
How does the routing appear (ie: will it route route you a mile out of your way to keep from making a left hand turn)?
Will the Bluetooth function let it communicate with a Sena headset?

It seemed to move pretty quick, the battery was dying out so I didn't get to check it out for very long, it did seem a little heavy, I was looking at it for hiking as well, so I tried to mess around with the NOAA weather radio, I couldn't figure out much before the battery died! I would bet the Bluetooth would work with the Sena headsets, that's one of the main selling points for me, I want to use the MP3 player/Bluetooth for some off-road ride tunes! I might go back this week and play with it some more!
