Having read multiple threads on whats been breaking on older GS/GSA bike, and potentially getting a new 2013 GSA- what extra OEM BMW parts do I still need to keep in my panniers for long trips?

    1. Fuel pump controller - it's not clear to me that this is fixed with the new recall item.
    2. EWS - ditto the ring antenna

    Other?

I carry a couple of spare headlight bulbs. That's all I've needed in 240k miles in 20 countries on 12GS's. Doubt that anyone can guess what is going to break. You will end up carrying 40+ pounds of dead weight. Save your money for petrol.

My bike's EWS ring was replaced at 8k miles and the FPC recall was done at 59k miles (no problems with the FPC before the recall). Over 113k miles now and no problems with either of these things so they seem to be resolved on my bike.

And I agree with Marty Hill's reply, except once I switched to HIDs I don't even burn out headlight bulbs anymore.
