    Harley-Davidson developing corner-carving trike

Harley-Davidson introduced its first official trike in years earlier in 2008 and now looks to flip things around a bit with a new reverse-trike that leans into corners. Rumors indicate that the huge American Motor Company will bring the corner carving trike in concept form to a motorcycle show set to take place next month in Cologne, Germany. If that debut indeed takes place, the machine is likely to be powered by the liquid-cooled Revolution V-Twin engine from the Rod series as opposed to the 45-degree air-cooled mill powering most of its bikes. We've known that the company has been working on this design for the past few years, filing patent drawings way back in 2006. The market is definitely ready for it now that Piaggio and Can Am have toed the waters. We look forward to seeing just how accurate these rumors prove to be next month.

I read that GM spent a billion dollars on its' onstar system. Hard to believe huh! Apparantly they weren't aware of the personal GPS units on the market for a few hundred dollars. IF HD is working on this silly contraption it will looked back upon as an asinine waste of money.

    Oh no!

Now we'll have to listen to the HD lovers tell us how the rest of the trike makers are "copying" HD!

Isn't the term "corner carving Harley" an oxymoron?

Off-topic, but Onstar basically just a GPS + Verizon phone embedded into a GM car. In fact, in older cars at least, you can yank the GPS cable and hook it up to your laptop. =)

What would HD owners do with this? Corners?
This thing is too low for them. They'll not be able to see their reflection in store windows, it'll never sell.

The leather tassles'll get stuck in the front wheels.
You can't stretch the front end.

Sounds like an improvement over all the other 3-wheelers out there.

It's probably better discussed in a separate thread, but I don't think you pushed it hard enough. Recently I took one for a spin, and it WILL raise the front right....though it doesn't like it, and tells you so by shutting down power.

I did think of one thing it would be good for.

You could carry spare final drive units, clutches, rotors, key housings, etc for the beemer guys. Hell, if you charged retail for the parts it would pay for the trike:rofl
