The loop looks to be set and marked to national standards.

Miss Bitters and I snuck out to SanYo today to scout sections for the upcoming MWVTA and her Lower NMTA events.

Don'cha just love shiny Trialers in the SanYo parking lot? :D

We spent several hours poking around the south end of SanYo past Lower Pool and into Grand Canyon. Found a few gems hidden in canyons down there -

    :huh

Hmm, maybe not for Vintage or Lowers, but still cool.

Anyhoo, we roamed for a while longer when I noticed a storm moving in -

We got back to the parking lot and loaded up. It started to sprinkle a bit when I cinched down the last tie-down, and by the time we got into the cab of the Tundra (like, 15 seconds later) it was doing this -

When we got to the top of the hill, we could see it absolutely pouring on Upper Pool and Amateur Canyon. Springtime in New Mexico! :lol3

    Day one in TX:

    This place is incredible.
8 mile loop for AM and PM. There was some huge downhills on the loop covered with a 10"+ silt/rock mix. FTW
    Sections were great.
The loop actually had scenic viewpoints marked out!
Really, really nice bunch of people here.
Score cards are laminated. Shouldn't they all be? :dunno

Missing another one. Dang. Lisa had her other knee replaced, so no playtime for this boy.

Great day, my amatuer career was short lived, and I have no endurance yet, but it was a great day and I saw another part of San Yo tha I had not seen before. Thanks to Christy, Chris, and the Webb clan for putting on a great day :D

Hey, don't give up on that one. It was very "challenging". I puckered up a lot on some sections and I've 'dropped down' to AMA from elsewhere. From upper class. And I never sweated so much in many years. So don't be discouraged. Not typical of AMA. I had a good time, brought back some old skills, I pushed myself and gathered confidence. I needed that.

But don't be discouraged about AMA.
