    Jdfog, good points above.

I very keenly remember when my local HD dealer got a Buell "Battletwin". The old hardcore riders were really into it and enjoyed seeing it. That Battletwin was still sitting there when the second (more practical) Buell came into the showroom. The second one sold and the Battletwin probably still belongs to the enthusiast who owned that dealership (A great guy BTW).

My point, in a round-a-bout way, is that the HD riders who really love the marque really appreciate the Motor Co's bread-and-butter big twins or the outlying Sportster fans (I'm a Sporty fan!).

Just as the Buell was a hope for market share (remember, HD had a big financial interest early on regardless of the ultimate Buell split), these new bikes are hope for market share. The latest XR didn't do so well IMO and I miss the basic, no frills sportster. It'll be interesting.

For those wanting more, here's the reveal vid (WARNING: the "Host" couldn't be more douche-y, and of course there's a red flannel shirt thrown in for good measure)

I am a little surprised at how much rake it has. a raked-out bike does nothing for me, i dont like it.

that being said, I think that harley is gonna sell schitt-tons of these. there are a myriad new (young) riders out there who want to be on a harley and (1) are intimidated by the size/weight, or (2) can't afford 'em, or (3) both. now a new/young rider can get the harley name badge in an easy riding bike that's affordable and looks cool.

the only way they will be a flop is if they got the ride behavior wrong and/or if there are serious quality control issues.

to me it looks like a miniature vrod.

This one is cool. Five minutes of real designers (no red flannel) doing what they'd like to see with the Street. Brat style, urban custom, and the drool worthy white RDX 800

I tried to watch the video with an open mind, but by the time the stylist referred to "its aggressive, pavement-eating attitude" I was feeling nauseous and had to quit.

HD dealers and techs hated the Buells. Will this be the next red headed stepchild?

I think that's going to be the qualifier for sure. Will have to wait and see how the India sourced parts measure up. BIG difference between "Made in America" and "Assembled in America"

It will have a lot of value for smaller riders, and the MSF class maybe.

My wife at 4'10" should fit pretty well!

Her on one of the MSF bike I maintain.

The rake is a little much. Surprised they raked it out that much with mid controls. Will be interesting to see the reviews and what testers think of how it handles.

    Polaris is building Indians.

    Indians are buiding Harleys. :D

Judging how quickly it went from concept to production I'd have guessed HD would have offshored all of the development. Quick and cheap.

With some experience in that arena, the quality part gives me great pause but only time will tell.

Anyway, nice to have many good choices from all mfrs coming online. :clap

I pulled this off that video. It's the white bike in the background at Milan I think.

    I like this.

Now let's see if this doesn't lead into the revival of the VR-1000. I know, I know, I dream big.

And you are great at acting like you know shit by quoting a post that was put up before the actual specs were posted :thumb

That's me :D and it's nice to see a new HD model that does it for me visually.
