Next year with valvetronic just like the cars.
Maybe in 2018 but not before. Can't be wider than the current engine so back to the drawing board
I had a 2006 first edition GS1200Adv, and it was a fantastic bike that was unfortunately plagued with issues (all thankfully fixed under warranty). Leaking seals, can-bus key issues, final drive etc etc. Way too many things for a $20K top of the range bike.
I know when I ride one of the new ones I will love it. The only thing stopping me putting a deposit on one right now is the unknown beta trial issues. I will probably wait 6 months to see what the issues are - if any.
Does anyone know if it will have the lower first gear?
interested to know about it too.
Coz I was under the impression it was the default on the last GSA.
My 12 GSA has the lower first gear and honestly, with a small 110lb wife and camping gear for the weekend, I wouldn't even consider the standard GS with higher first gear tranny. I found myself boggled how a higher gear would work in some minor situations I had myself in...
I am anxious to hear about the details on the upcoming GSA. Of course after 10k miles this past year, I'm madly in love with the iron pig....what an incredible do-it-all machine....not sure I will be ready to trade once my warranty is expired or not.
Wet clutch. Go ahead and slip it a little if you need to for low speed maneuvering.
Great point! The wet clutch does have its advantages.
For me - it'll be a toss up between this bike and the LC RT. Spring 2014 will be an interesting time for sure..
They all end up wet anyway...my '06 had a leak in the rear main, twice. I'll taker a wet clutch from the factory any day
Is it just me or has the new WC crossed over a bit into the "don't hurt me" Ducati Multi territory? I love the multi, riding mate has one, but its a bit fragile looking with all its pretty plastics. I'm sure this has been discussed/mentioned somewhere in the pages of thread-dom. I'm also sure the new WC is every bit as tough as the old (several youtube clips out there proving it), but the aesthetics...the look and feel....just not sure.
I know the GSA is going to have all the guards and farkles, but its got a bit of a refined edge now. When I look at my '12 GSA, it really is one ugly, slapped-together bit of kit......and I LOVE it for that!
I've grown quite fond of my GSA in my now one year of ownership; it is hard to think about trading it...I refuse to ride a new one as the extra refined edge of the engine will probably win me over.
for me kit was a case of ... if you ride it, you'll buy it ... just didn't want to wait for the GSA - so added my own (except for larger gas tank) "A" package ...
True, but the lower first gear has been fantastic for my moto marshalling in cycle races. A few other guys with other bikes are now complaining a little of unhappy clutches (wet clutches too I think), but I seldom had to use the clutch as I could crawl in first... probably about 12-15kph is about as low as you can go before you need the clutch.
I wonder what the price difference between the standard LC and the Adv version will be?
Same as always.
Do anyone know a little bit about the arriving of it?
I know they are selling the GSA 2013 inventories, and I heard about something coming sometime in 2014. But ....?
What I'd like to see is a GSA with a slant 4 engine of the k13 in a nicely tight frame with a few goodies on it! Just the bike Mad Max would ride
.. they might introduce it at the EICMA fair in Milano/Italy on november 7-10.: http://www.eicma.it...
.. and start selling it in march 2014.
If recent history is any indication, it should be launched at Intermot 2014 in Cologne on October 1st...
