My BMW Navigator III started acting up and wouldn't clear up with a software update or hard re-boot. So I called Garmin to see if they could offer a repair or refurbished unit-----I had done this before with a BMW Nav II that crapped out on me that they replaced with a refurb (for a fee). Turns out they no longer offer refurb Navi III's and offered a BMW Zumo 550 for the same exchange fee ($200 plus tax). In addition to the new unit, they sent me all the supporting mount, brackets, power cords, etc.-------I must say, I'm very happy with Garmin's customer service. I installed the mounting bracket and will plug in the power cord. My question is----Is the Zumo then a simple plug and play? I know it supposedly has all the preloaded maps but is there anything else I need to download or setup before plugging in? As you see, I'm no GPS techie!
