    Stephen,

Can you pass along the URL that your looking at for those? The US importer doesn't have those sizes listed in the K60 tread design, only the K65 and K36.

Also, as an update for anyone following this thread, Heidenau is still working out issues EU regulation changes governing the rubber compounds used in tires have suspending manufacturing of the K60. It appears they have it sorted out, except for the 150/70-17, which they're expecting to have test productions done at the end of the month.

    See here:

It is the German website of Heidenau, the manufacturer. One can buy all sizes in Europe! Couldn't imagine why they wouldn't sell those to the US and Canada?

I'd stock the 120/90-18 M/C 71T, it has the higher load index and the higher speed rating. It is the size for the 1981-1987 R80G/S and it is a perfect tire for it! I don't know why the h*ll the US distributor would not import it.

Probably because they'd only sell 10 tires in that size per season in the US and Canada.

Barb: In speaking to the importer, that's pretty close to the case. Having not received previous requests for that size, he hasn't been stocking them.

StephenB: It sounds like you were already in touch with the importer as well, but if you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

For anyone that's been trying to reach us lately, I apologize, I made a typo to our phone number on our website. This has apparently caused many to dial the wrong number. The number, which I've corrected on our website, is 907-457-4259.

Thanks, and sorry for any inconvenience.

Well it seems we've reached the end of the season for travelers. As such we've packed the shop up for the winter. Thanks to everyone that stopped by this summer, and made our first full year of business a success. We'll see y'all again next year.

Adventure Cycleworks is a first class act. Great guys willing to share their knowledge and make sure your trip is successful.
Am glad I had the opportunity to meet Dan and utilize their services.
Am sure they will be needing a bigger shop soon for all the riders going to them and not the dealers. Best of luck in growing your business.

You mean I can't stop in next January to have my studded tires mounted? :(: Now what will I do? :dunno

    :rofl

You guys have done really well. Nothing but good reports from everyone who has stopped by for service. It's nice to have a place in Fairbanks I can recommend with confidence.

Enjoy your winter off - you have both earned it. :thumb

I think Dan has motion detectors on his outside lights, so at least you won't have to change them in the dark.
