Tried to follow that same credo on the LT1 opti. EPIC FAIL!

I'll order one of them fine pieces of engineering when I come back nice and rested from a M/C trip out west. :evil

I woke up late so I couldn't make it with y'all. I did ride down to 301 and notice it was dusty and deep sand. Now the oil and filters are changed so I should be ready for next time. Maybe after a good rain!

We knocked out 192 miles, and the dust was there, but not as bad as I expected. I think it would have been intolerable for anything more than two bikes, however, cuz we were able to ride side-by-side lots of the time.

For the 192 miles we had a 39 mph moving average -- which included farting around some in the CBD of Carrabelle.

All in all a good ride. BTW, the old bridge just north of N30.14362 W84.87294 can be bypassed on sides cuz of the drought. One could ride right down the center too, if one wants to brave the erroding dirt piles on each end. But being able to get across the branch at that point give access to lots of ANF in the NW.

Sumatra gas station is still "out of gas". I suspect that the little store is on its last leg. Most of the stock is sold out, it's pretty slim pickins'. And what there is sports the aroma of amonia. (!)

I got me a diet coke and hauled booty.

Sad:cry Maybe THE DEALER needs to roll in there and scoup the place up. If the fuel tanks are still usable the location is SWEET!

Trouble is, there are semi-elaborate convenience stores on the apalachicola and Hosford ends of that SR 65 run, where travelers into the outback can gas up.

Let he who would wanna man that counter 50 hrs a day waiting for the likes of me to come in, buy 2 gallons of gas, and ax for fountain drinks (which they don't have) cast the first stone.

The only excitiment to which he or she'd beable to look forward is the occasional armed robbery.

Strikes me that rural places such as this would benefit from a stand alone, unattended gas pump, prompted by credit or debit card, and open 24/7. I figure a fellow could recover his $30,000 investment sometime during the ice age after next.

Anybody riding the ANF this weekend? I'm sure Hal will be starting out from Silver Lk Rd on Sunday, but I might only have time to ride Saturday morning.

Yessir. Couldn't find any reviews online, so I bought one.... at $21 how bad can it be :lol3

Doubt it'll last real long, and I am not sure how it'll work on non sandy stuff.

I do have a takeoff Scorpion if it sucks though :nod

I had a nice long ride Saturday with plenty of liquid sunshine! It wasn't bad until my boots started filling up with water :)

I spent the day re-re-re-arranging new couches and chit, and did a little pre assembly prep work on the KDX
