    Hello All,
I'm new to this site and just wanted to stop by and introduce myself. I've been riding of around 22yrs. 5yrs as an MSF Instructor/Rider Coach in WA state. Plus I've played on the Track (PIR in OR state). My longest non stop ride so far was six week, 16,000 miles and I hit almost every state except AK & HI. I currently own an 07 Triumph Tiger 1150 and an 08 Kawasaki Versys 650 (for sale!). I live about 20 Min's N of B'ham, AL. If any one wants to get together for a ride just give me a holler. I'm a Home School Teacher so my time is very flexible. I'm really interested in starting to take the Tiger off road but I don't have much dirt experience (yet!).

Hey hey Devon, so you worked with Stu (steve) in WA. Welcome to the crazy house. You have to check out Talledega NF with your tiger. Nice FS road there.

Thanks for the warm welcome all. I've heard allot about the Talladega ("Shake & Bake!") NF. Sounds like just what I need to get my feet wet, ummm dirty :evil . Since my darling moto buddy wife is now preg she won't be riding for a long while and we are selling her Versys 650 and my other best riding buddies live in WI. Sooo...as pathetic as it sounds I'm now a lone wolf looking for an occasional pack. If anyone wants to head out on a ride I'd be happy to adventure with others.
I also just down loaded Mad Maps to my Garmin Zumo 550. These maps are great for getting to know an area. I just did the Look Out Mountain/Little River Canyon loop. Wow it was great. I went on a Friday so there roads were free of slow cages and open for fun. :rofl Wineries, Tigers for Tomorrow (no no the Triumph type, the furry type), incredible views, and fantastic twisty roads. :clap

PS The Exploring AL site was most excellent, Thanks for the link!

    Hi Ray,
Thanks for the lunch invite. Do you think my very street orientated 07 Tiger with a novice dirt rider and street tires will be able to takle the terrian involved? Just meeting for lunch seems like cheating...

How do you like the 01 Tiger? I'd like to make mine a little more dirt friendly.

    Hi Scott,
I actually used to live in MD. My wife lived in Germantown and I lived in Columbia & Catonsville. Coliumbia was a great place to live because I didn't have to slog through miles of traffic to get to good riding roads.
She got recruited for a Bio-science job down here so off we moved. We are talking about moving back so we can be around family when the next little motorcyclist comes into the world.

    Thanks for the welcome.
