Agreed. That's not really a bad price, if it's in good nick...

I think the w650 is a great looking bike, and the owners seem to like it's other virtues, so I've lusted after them for years. I'd probably go take a look if I weren't currently wrestling with another one year cult bike (SRX600) at this time.

I finally found a Corbin seat for my W that I could afford, it's supposed to be here on Monday. I hope that turns it into an all day bike. I really like the W but can't sit on it for more than a few hours. My DR 650 is so much more comfortable, it sees all the action any more and the W gets lonely. Maybe this will change shortly.

Well, standard Corbin's are hard as a rock. Somewhere earlier in this thread I posted a comparison of a modified stock sear, a standard Corbin Gunfighter, and a Rich's custom seat. I also mentioned a custom Corbin I ordered for one of my Beemers.

For me, W650 is too buzzy for the standard Corbin. The modified stock seat works OK. The custom Corbin on the R1100S is fabulous.

This is a three for one ...
    1. My experience with the Corbin Gunfighter and Lady was great for riding, but I didn't care for the looks on the W650. So I had a traditional seat made by Sargent.
    2. I've had all good experiences with w650shop and Martin.
    3. That's a fair price for a 2001 W650 in North America.

Has anybody tried a Seat Concepts for the W?

Huh, good question. I've no idea but Seat Concepts is highly regarded in the Dual Sport/ADV bike world.

Near as I can tell, they don't offer a seat for the W, nor do they do custom work - but I haven't asked...

I have a Corbin gunfighter for my W. It's great looking, with alloy tank for a cafe look, and I didn't find it objectionable from a comfort standpoint on a multiday tour. However, with a 30" inseam it's a tad wide for me at the front. Doesn't give me any difficulties reaching the ground (nor would I care if it did) just wish it were a tad narrower. Overall I like it.

That being said, to me the only real reason to get one is for the looks. The hump makes it almost impossible to carry a tail bag so make other provisions (rack, saddlebags) if you plan on touring, and around town the stock dual seat is comfortable enough and way more versatile for a tailbag or some throwover saddlebags. So you can't easily use the comfy Corbin on the long trips where it would be appreciated, and if you add the racks and such to overcome this, you negate the sporty look the seat gives.

Yep, didn't take long to realize that. Only good for credit card touring.

Corbin makes a 2-up seat besides the gunfighter.

Yeah but I don't know that I've ever seen one for a W. Gunfighter seems much more popular than the Gunfighter and lady king/queen style.

I finally got to take the W out for a good 2 hour ride today, first time with the new seat. What an improvement! No squirming around and no tailbone pain. It's like a whole new bike now, so glad I got one. Slowly, over the last 10 years, this bike is becoming just what I want it to be......

I've got both, plus the original which is by far the most uncomfortable. Unfortunately, the Gunfighter solo is so slick I can't stop sliding around.
