Depends on what you want to do. The Voyager is great for off road trail riding and documenting. The Voyager Pro will be far better for street, ADV and DS use as it has background maps and piles of advanced features.

Fitting in conjunction with a road book and ICO for racing / adventure touring :)

Before you make a decision, if you want to use it for rally you'll want to be sure it has a digital compass display for HP navigation, unless your ICO is a Rally Max-G which can display headings.

It looks like the current Voyager already implements a compass, but it's the typical arrow in a circle format. I'm not sure if they have the option to display it in number form, 0-359 degrees. That is what would be needed for rally. I doubt they are aiming for the fairly small rally market though. If they were, there are a few other things that should be considered, like up/down odometer adjustments via thumb switch, and faster GPS sample rates (1/sec is a bit slow).

Well if units are being tested I would assume the specs are done. At least a pic or feature list would be great.

you're probably right about the market segment being too small to consider rollchart/similar for this units user interface features. :( that's really too bad. it would rock.

thumb switch/wheel/thing controls ? hell yes ! that would move some units ! i could see rzr / sxs / quad / harley / glider / mtbikers / etc guys and gals going crazy to buy a well designed unit with thumb controls. i really hope they release something that isn't beta-ware for a user interface- cause it takes about ten seconds to realize "my iphone kills this !" within three seconds of turning it on. reallllllly hope the software guys obsessed about beating apps !

I have a vacant spot waiting and my old gps (with a beer bottle top holding the power contacts together) is ready to be replaced!

How about some photos Kelly? We're not asking for a formal press release that will require the full food chain approval.
Just throw us a spy photo. After all we are part of your core target market group here on ADVrider aren't we?
Of course don't leak anything that will get your arse fired of course.

Seriously. The VP has been delayed for more than a year and still no confirmed features or pictures.

At this point i'm not holding my breath....

if you read the first quote in this thread, the quote is from October of 2014...

    here's the quote location:
    http://advrider.com/index.php?threa...sting-gps-speedo.630939/page-17#post-25306239

which said they had "been pouring all their love into the Pro for the last two years", which means the project is now, i think, six or seven years old come October 2017 ?

i dunno. I'm still waiting to see the MeetEarl guy pop up on the radar asking for gofundme money again.... and the hilarity that will ensue.

    Hey Kelly,
What's up with the 5 Voyager Pro units being given away at AltRider's Taste of Dakar event this month? I have cut a pasted from the Dirt Bike Magazine website's Weekly Feed section.
With Joe Public getting there hands on some units in a couple of weeks I am feeling a bit slighted we still haven't seen any pictures of the unit yet. How about showing the ADVrider inmates some love?
The 2017 Taste of Dakar will take riders on an epic weekend adventure in Gold Point, Nevada, March 17th-19th. With GPS-led routes near Death Valley, five square meals, two nights of camping, entertainment and drinks, riders will also have a chance to win exciting giveaways, including a gift certificate for a complete set of Raiden gear: helmet, jacket, gloves, boots and pants from Icon Motorsports, as well as one of five all-new Voyager Pro GPS units from TrailTech. This year’s taste of Dakar will take riders on an excursion covering up to 150 miles of off-road riding, at the novice, intermediate or expert levels. GPS-equipped riders will run point and sweep for each route, which cover terrain ranging from boulder fields, dry lake and river beds to mountaintop single track and pristine dunes. After a full day in the saddle, riders meet back at camp to enjoy dinner, adult beverages and live entertainment from some of the most well known ADV legends.

I had heard from someone at the Taste of Dakar event that they did give one or more of them away there. But it is unknown if the unit was actually there or promised for some time in the future.
