Thanks Mark and Helen for hosting this. Absolute blast as always.

And Mark...I always think that I get my bike pretty much dialed in until I ride one of yours and that shows my how much better they can be.

That is the same set of lies I used when I sold my last KDX.
The buyer didn't even ask why part of the frame had fresh paint. :lol3

Avatar material for sure. Might even be better than PrairieRider's Puddle classic.[/QUOTE]

The one where he is flipping over the bars is definitely front page material.

Sorry I missed this. I've been preoccupied and I spent NYE with a different group of friends... I wish I had been keeping track of the forum and found this thread in time.

    Oh well... such is life.

I totally could do 1969 hippie chick... I even have the clothes in my closet.

Wuds... I'm glad you're ok, at least you didn't break anything... that would've sucked BAD.

    You didn't miss much :lol3

One of the advantages of being small & nimble, with a low COG (not to mention, years of experience crashing), I've developed an art form that keeps me bouncing back up :D Also, several years of Judo taught me the correct way to fall, and you wear all that gear - use it! Grant mentioned that I don't let go of my handlebars. Unless no other option is available, I hang on...that way, I'm not jamming my hand/wrist/elbow/shoulder (all one piece) into the ground, but letting the elbow & shoulder pads dissipate the energy. Judo taught me to roll as well, so I usually manage to pop back up with no more than a few bruises. Others may have differing opinions of how to crash and walk away, but mine has worked for 10 years, and I've had some good ones even before these in the photos where I just picked up the bike, kicked it over, and rode off. No big deal, right?

Wuds, clearly you don't need any lessons on how to crash. You need lessons on how to ride.

I have many talents of which to capture photos. I was just doing one of my many impressions that day:

Another thank you for Sheerboy and family for hosting a great New Years party. I saw 3 cops on my way into Nunn city limits but, we escaped any problems as several of us spent the night and ate a great breakfast the next morning. The moonshine had the most powerful smell I had ever come across. The mutton was the best tasting I've had in years. The cameras missed my snow bank faceplant on Sheerboys Sherco. Wuds wasn't the only one to find the front wheel eating yeti hidden in the snow bank. l also got to ride Sheerboy's Beta Alp. I'm smitten. I'm either going to have to find one or build something like it. It was a great start to 2010. Again, many thanks! :thumbup

When plunging into deep snow like this, you should keep your weight very far back, so as to avoid doing an endo.

That was a mighty fancy dismount. Nice soft landing with a roll to bleed off momentum, and it even looks like you got the snow dusted off your helmet by the friendly bike.
