Looking to find riders in Newcastle area to do some rides with. See plenty of people riding around the area and I just wont to organize some rides.I have a gs800 and would like to do off and on road riding and maybe some camping trips.

    Hi Mick,
I am up the valley and always looking for a ride ( work permitting ). Planning a 2 day ride sometime in October. Over Barrington then back roads to Ginger's for the night and probably back down Knodingbul to Gloucester.

Fogo, ThunderDan and quirky also lurk around the Hunter valley when not down a mine shaft.

    Cheers Fogo....

Thinking about an easy ride to Breeza lookout ( Coolah Tops ) just to boil the billy and contemplate my navel ; if the weather looks ok. If I head out that way company welcome ( even NW riders:lol3)

Keep me in the loop please. DC1200, Aussiesteve, Oldfatbeerman are a few more close by. My blue beastie is pulled apart for a suspension/steering damper service, some polish and some rim straightening. Could be more than a few weeks away from being ready.

    Cheers.

Hi another Maitland rider here, didnt realise there were so many of us.

Probably be a bit quiet at the moment due to the cold, but post up when you're going for a ride in here. You will get a few takers sooner or later.

I have been sweating my butt off all day putting up the shed for a horse float. ( big brownie points ). Will keep an eye on weather forecast and probably head up to Coolah Tops then maybe over Pandora's to the Willow Tree - Merriwa road. Bit of a trek ( 500ish k's ) but some nice scenery and easy dirt roads.

You may be a lot keener than I am but was headed west a couple of weeks ago, went through Jerrys at sunrise and by Merriwa was struggling with the cold and had to keep stopping to warm up. I'll be sticking to riding between 9 and 5 for a little while.

Enjoy your run out to Coolah and Pandoras, some great fast roads.

Keeping an eye on the weather forecast. Probably Sunday.

How can the so called scientists predict weather patterns 10 years down the track when they can't get it right three days out?

There is some great riding in your area. I have a few acres over at Firefly and the WR comes with me every time I get over there. I have some good loops logged into the gps through Wang Wauk to Bulahdelah. I would like to explore some of Dingo Tops to Ginger's Creek when thinks warm up ( and work cools down !! ).

I'm in Newcastle as well. Should have my XR400 all registered by the end of the year.
Just gotta to get some running repairs on me leg first.
That'll knock me out of action for about 3 months. So come summer time I'll be out to catch up for a beer.

Plenty more weekends to ride. I will be tied up for most of mid august to end of October with work but I would go nuts if I couldn't slip a day in somewhere.
