Meh. It's kinda ok.
It's on the list from over here!
Looking forward to the ID BDR!
Do you do these routes on a DR650? Seems I only see BMW and KTM in the videos...
Any plans on doing California??
A CA <> OR <> WA would be a terrific route.
for fall of 2015 i was dreaming up this epicness:
... then how about ???
S. Border > AZBDR > UTBDR >IDBDR > N. Border > GWT > S. Border > CDR > N. Border > pass out from pure bliss.
That would have to be one the best USA ADV rides of all time and maybe more epic than the TAT.
Oh yeah DR650! check out my ride.
We've had a S10, KLR650 and a WR250R do BDRs.
Anything with a tag will work.
We are offering prizes to the 1st person to do a BDR on a scooter
Many of the same guys who make and ride these each year just have $$$ bikes, but it's go for any ADV or DS bike.
Yes CA will happen as well as NV even though it's not listed on the website yet. I've been pushing to get it listed asap so it will happen.
We ride 1 a year and release that next winter.
You can see all the finished or planned routes.
I do know for 2015 we will ride an East Coast Appalachian BDR (APBDR)
for all our east coast bros! So Cali is down the line somewhere.
the route is built.
the ride happens sometime in the fall.
the map & dvd are then released in the winter.
ready for the 2015 riding season.
Wahooo ! ! ! ! I'm be looking forward to the presentations, they will give me something to look forward to in the winter.
Dirtdiva and Ricklesss did the Nez Perce rally on Honda CT 110's a few years back,,all the way from Oregon,,and back.
We met an older couple a few years later who make an annual ride on the same Honda trail bikes to the top of Pinyon Peak, she was last seen wearing plaid pedalpushers and a pair of winos,,but she did have a helmet!(along with a tough rugged sweatshirt, and gardening gloves!) Pics on my old dead computer, sorry, but,,,the answer is,,YES!,,you could ride lots of Idaho on a small bike,, I think that a scooter would be asking for a rescue mission though,,,,:huh ,,
Been really looking forward to this one.
I'm assuming this will be slightly different than the already established T3?
"Idaho backcountry" seems almost redundant - they're so spoiled out there they probably need GPS tracks to take routes that aren't good dual-sporting. Looking forward to riding it.
Can't have too many Idaho Routes. The BDR's seem more appropriate for bigger adventure bikes as well.
Of course. BDRs are designed for larger ADV bikes but there are tough sections in everyone one.
"The route will begin in the old western town of Jarbidge Nevada and then meander through the west side of the Idaho Rocky Mountains on the way to the Canadian Border at the Idaho Panhandle."
The IDBDR appears to run west of the T3.
You could up up the IDBDR and down the T3.
Hey! Keep those big bikes out of Jarbidge!! Nobody knows about that place. Next thing you know, they will make a bunch of wilderness around it... Oh wait, they already did that. JK
I don't know how some guys do it
in my mind I feel I would like to do something like this but then I get out on the trail and ride a BDR which takes me a week and my body is spent!
i am only 37, maybe I need to hit the gym or something. lol
So happy to see this happening, can't wait to see the route! If you guys are looking for local input on the northern parts of the route post on the Spokane forum, you'll get plenty of commentary and support. Or if you have some sections mapped out that you'd like checked out, drop a line. Heading north, will you be traversing the Lolo Motorway east to west, or west to east?
I wonder if we could con Sterling, Rob, and Tom into this? Get some local sponsorship going for support, some solid dates, and meetup points for those who can't make the entire trip. Route/track it and they will come :)
Chet, track it and they will come!!! I'm already there just say when..see you at the rally
