I agree!! I used to have one and regrettably sold it.
yes and post on DAMN Riders for riding mates - this would be cool trip. I could see a whole bunch of Zumos going down the road
Hey: Sorry for the late notice, but I'll be at Hermy's BMW & Triumph' in Port Clinton PA. Tonight talking about the MABDR Route and Pine Barrens Adventure Camp Riding Schools plans to offer guided and supported tours of the route starting this spring.
Great time & turn out @ Hermy’s!
Thanks for the info Jack.

Late to the party here. I live in western PA, so running the MABDR from north to south, then return via some awesome twisties (The Snake, BOTD, etc) sure looks like a great trip. Is the MABDR five full days of riding (no stopping to be a tourist, ~220/day) given the easy nature of the route?
I got out there only buying the map! Looking forward to riding it in June.

The MABDR mates right up with the SEAT. Leaving in less than a month.
Then the west side of the TWVT back to the burgh.
I thought of combining the MABDR with the eastern part of the SEAT, then AutoTrain back to VA, then the 2.5 hr ride home. Make a great adventure, I would think.
How many days riding will that take to complete?
I was hoping for 12 but Greg can only get 9 off. So we are going to be setting land speed records.
Are you going to be cleared to ride by early April?
Sure wish I was good to go by April, hate to pass up a bike trip.
As it looks now maybe May till I even get back on a bike.
You are great to ride with. Keep me in mind for the next trip.
I think you'd find the Maritimes well worth inclusion. I'm biased because I live here, but really, there are thousands of miles of free gravel roads, millions of acres of public land for camping, and that doesn't even include Newfoundland ... or Quebec.
I started work on turning the northern half of the MABDR into a loop by adding a western return from the Canaan Valley/Dolly Sods area up through the Laurel Highlands of PA and on up to Galeton. I have about 80% of it figured out already as I've done it (in pieces) in the past. I just need to get from the Laurel Highlands up to Tyrone... Any suggestions for dirty ways to do that appreciated...
I'm working on a return also, have some tracks I've ridden and some tracks from friends but nothing that far west and north. So I'm looking too. Sorry I can't help. I'll share what I have when I get it clean up and complete.
Man that sounds Awesome. I'm in Cleveland so the "end" in PA is just 119 miles form my door. It would be awesome to start at the end, and do a loop and just have 100 miles home. I'll be watching for updates!
I will try to cobble up two GPX files that have the southern and northern bits of the return leg and post those, leaving the bit between the two files to be sorted out this year. I have a busy week ahead but will see what I can come up with. I think having a "loop" option makes it much more accessible as you can start/finish anywhere along the loop. I'm going to pick the brains of some local guys that might have suggestions for filling in the middle. I suspect the return leg will be more challenging than the MABDR, but will keep it to public dirt roads (which can be pretty interesting in WV).
I plan to buy a paper map from Butler and I already have the GPX files but does anyone have a list going of cool sh*t to see along the way? Like points of interest, must see places etc? I plan on following the rout on google maps and trying to put a bunch of POIs together and will share when I do. But what have you guys found so far?
