This translates to section 7 (north of Vallecitos) 42 & 45 closed.

Was going to continue South to North picking it up by swinging around on US285 & US64 but there's no gas around. Went to Antonito and did this last section North to South. Whoever claims they got gas at Antonito should buy a lottery ticket. The local restaurant said of the two gas stations, one is closed permanently and the other opens when the owner decides to buy gas (which is rare). Get gas at Conoco North of Antonito in Alamosa (14 miles north)

Hey guys, has anyone had any luck getting the NMBDR to COBDR route/track to work on their GPS? I've tried importing it into both Gaia GPS as well as my Garmin Inreach Explorer and Earthmate app, and they all show the same problem.

Basically they don't show any actual tracks, just a single straight line as the crow flies between the start point and end point.

There's gas in Tres Piedras. You just have to ask about it. $7/gallon at the local bar.

Sounds like I need to install a gas pump at my cabin which is only a few miles up the Conejos River from the end of the NMBDR. With the gas situation in Antonito hauling another 20 gallons up tomorrow for 6 days of riding out of there.

At $7 gal imagine I could fund this years riding!!. But to my fellow Adv group I could only feel justified in charging $6/gal plus a beer!

I'd pay that fee in a heartbeat to ride this part of NM! I see a business opportunity in the works here! :deal

Nice!!! Glad you got to finish.

Is the monsoon season upon us now? I got caught in a snow storm back in April and bailed when the route crossed Hwy 60. Been wanting to go back and finish it up but thought I might have waited a little to long now. Any thoughts on picking back up around Hwy 60 sometime in the next few weeks?

What is the latest you guys think this could be done? Obviously playing it by ear with regards to weather and such, but I have a buddy wanting to come down from Washington to ride it with me. He works in HVAC so we'd have to wait until fall.

Having been here in NM my entire life I can tell you that there is no way to answer this. It could easily be done year round in a dry year, but its going to be COLD. Temps in the mountain regions will start dropping below freezing at night typically around sept/oct. Snow can happen anywhere from mid Oct through May. (I've seen 2' of snow on Halloween as well as flurries in mid May). Sept should be perfect IMO.

Except when it rains all bets are off.
    Sept could be moonsoony.

What is the status of those on/off gas stations in Antonito now?
We (two of us) are leaving OKC for Salida Tuesday about noon. Parking the van in Salida and taking the CDR south to Antonio and picking up the NMBDR there and riding it south to Cuba. We will need fuel about Antonito.
