I like the hire. I think he's what they need. He may especially be what Stafford needs. The team is loaded. All he needs to do is cut down on penalties and turnovers.

Stafford needs to drop the "I don't need off-season work" mentality. The guy needs someone who fully understands the mechanics of throwing to get through to him and make the adjustments necessary to really use that cannon of an arm. Sooooo many shitty passes this year. It's not easy to overthrow Calvin Johnson, but he managed to do so with painful regularity. :bluduh

He has more arm angles than a broken final drive. Strangest thing.

I remember when Favruh used to sidearm sling passes. Looked nearly as fucked up, but somehow Madden made me believe it was all good. :lol3

Still waiting on the Lions to shore up their secondary. They could really use a stud linebacker as well. Offensively, they should be - should be - nearly untouchable.

I only got to see two or three of their games this year. But I would put a lot of that on him trying to get it in Mega-Tron's vicinity without giving up an interception? Maybe not. Like I said, I am sure I did not see anywhere's near the number of touches you did. I would agree, he has not progressed to where I thought he would be at this point in his career with the weapons he has. Of course, I may be discounting the early injuries he suffered too much. I am sure that was a set back as well. I did not know he was slacker in the off season.....that is not good. The top guys work as hard in the off season as they do during the regular. And as you get older, as we mostly all know, that is really important to be able to stand the rigors of a season.

I wish them all the best. I like Jim Caldwell and hope this is a good opportunity for him. There is certainly plenty of talent in the house to work with.

I'm from Detroit originally. Although I've been gone going on 30 years now, I rooted for the Lions for many years. Many, many years. The Lions haven't had a good team since the sixties. That's going on 50 years of crappy teams. Five decades. Fifty years. I gave up on them. They suck. If you took the entire Patriot/Seahawk/Denver/SF team (pick one, any one) and moved them to Detroit intact, they wouldn't even make the playoffs next year. The Lions suck.

    I'm feeling much better now.

    See? It works :D

Lions fan, eh? See if you still are after another couple of decades of "The Lions were GREAT this year. They broke 500" :clap

Vince Lombardi, Don Shula, Tom Landry could not take any Lion team anywhere. I lived in the Detroit area to long to watch the Lions. Russ Thomas, and Matt Millen could not pick the right players with all of the draft choices.

Just heard that William Clay Ford died. R.I.P.

Be interesting to see what happens to the Lions now.

Dealt with him as a Bear. He'll be the same player, just a little older, in green and yellow. Worrying about what other teams in the division are doing is very low on the list of priorities for the kittens at Ford Field.
