Indeed. Have you made any adjustments to the suspension? I just put heavier fork oil in and will need to adjust the shock because stock was just too soft.

They come out when you start it. Once had a mouse decide that the hose of a backpack leaf blower was a good spot to set up camp. Needless to say, when it came time to clean up the leaves..........mice came out like the stuntman getting shot out of the cannon! Felt bad for those little guys, didn’t know what was coming out at first. They actually survived and moved back into the leaf blower in the shed and it happened a second time. After that I duct taped a coffee can over the end of the hose to ensure eviction.

I once had a mouse family move into the air box on my CR500. They made a nice nest with my air filter.

I have the 465 spring on the Progressive 450 shock now - made a good bit of difference as the 450 spring was way too harsh on my spine. Still not optimal but I'll take it. Front feels ok for now - we'll see how it works with the bike loaded up with gear. I like the bike - the MABDR trip will be the ultimate testing ground to determine if it stays in the barn with its friends. Are you taking your RX3 to NS? Should be fine up there. Hit quite a bit of gravel right before Cape Bretton cutting over to our night lodging in New Harbor. Felt bad for my friend who was riding my Gladius but as a long time dirt rider, she kept right up.

You're going to love Nova Scotia. I can't wait to hit New Foundland/Labrador - maybe 2019.

Yes I'll be taking the RX3 to NS. I've been looking forward to this trip for a long time. Is that your review of the RX3 that was posted on YouTube?

Yes - that'd be me. I'll be doing another review for the publication I write for after the MABDR - a true test of the machine on a 2500 mile dirt road tour.

If you haven't seen the NS video I did - here it is below so you can spy some of the great places and scenery you'll find in NS:

I thought that would be you in the review video considering is was a silver RX3 and a lady from CT. Thanks for sharing your NS trip pics. Now I'm even more excited about the trip and an additional day is a must. Looking forward to your next review and hearing your opinion of the RX3 after MABDR. I'm planning on doing the western portion of the TAT next year on the RX3 if all goes well.

It’s very close! Only thing remaining is new auxiliary lights and luggage racks. Then we’re ready to ride!

Glad I found this thread. I live in Mason, NH so the start of the Hampster is 15 minutes away in Hollis. I've ridden the route a couple times in various pieces. The PDR is good fun, too. I'm on an 09 KLR that I enjoy taking into places it doesn't really belong. While I don't have the time to do the longer rides you guys have planned, I'm interested in the shorter stuff. Surprised I didn't see anything about going to Cromag in September in the schedule. That rally has been my yearly highlight for years.
Please let me know if any of you are blasting through Mason in the coming months on the weekends, I'd be happy to try to link up. The local dirt is varied right now between slick mud and rutted tracks and filler stone. It kind of depends on whether the temps drop below freezing the night before.

I know there's a couple of us from this group going to CroMag in September. Dualscotty being one and me being another. Looking forward to meeting up with you sometime on a ride.

Considering the places you take the GS I give it 2 months. So take plenty of pics and video to remind yourself what your show bike looked like once.:imaposer

Well it wasn't but 40 degrees today but I did get my first ride in this year. Although it was short it was enjoyable. Before going out I change the fork oil, put LED strip brake lights on my panniers and LEDs on the front. Added barkbusters and new gear shift. I just have to install a new skid plate.

I almost went out yesterday late afternoon but passed thinking today would hit 40. Well, passing snow showers and a cool 32 degree breeze all day left me tinkering on the wood splitter and reading my newly arrived edition of Motorcyclist Magazine instead. Glad someone got out for a little spin.

Today I've done some trip cost calculating.
    Two night of camping: $60
    Gas:$70 (60 mpg @ $2.50 per gallon)
    Food: $180 ($30 day)
    Ferry: $222

After calling for the estimated ferry cost for 2018 I was a bit surprised. I was expecting half of what they said. As a result, I'm going to consider a different route that elimates the ferry to lower the cost.

Have you checked the Portland to Yarmouth Ferry? We got a good deal at $126 one way last year - the ferry was super nice and going through New Brunswick on the way back wasn't that great a trip - mostly highway so I would highly recommend taking the ferry either going or coming back and then slabbing it on the other end.

Doesn't look like they have their fares/special offers up yet - but keep checking this site: https://www.ferries.ca/thecat/offers/
