Nicaragua 2014: ten days in the Central American country with a Honda XR250 Tornado.
We rented it from Jurgen and Elizabeth at bike-nicaragua.com, nice and friendly company.
Elizabeth is also a very good cook :-)

Below the route and some pictures

Keep the posts coming! Our family goes to Nicaragua often. We do volunteer work in La Paz Centro and we have visited all the places you seem to be hitting on your map. We love Nicaragua and the people there! We are going back again in Feb. 2015.

Also, after not riding for more than 20 years, it was after a brief ride on a bike there in February 2013 that I got "the fever" again and purchased my ride that March! I have a great fondness in my heart for this country.

Looking forward to more! :ear Curious to hear about your experiences on a rented bike. I was there in 2004 and rented a car...mistake. My wife and I were shaken down 3 times by the police in the first 2 hours (road blocks). First time they didn't want to play 'the game', and I had a pistol placed gently next to my temple. Second and third time were the usual. Returned the car and had no more troubles! Fantastic country, looking forward to a return trip. Sorry for the hijack. Carry on.

Never had problems with the police iin this trip:
they stopped us two times; the first one they let us go without asking anything just as they understood we were foreigners, the second time they just asked to see the papers of the bike and my driving license, 2 minutes

Original plan was to stop somewhere between Jinotega and Matagalpa and visit the area, but as it started raining and it was still quite early, we decided to continue south with the goal of reaching Granada

Looks great so far! Even spotted a 70-series Land Cruiser in one of your pictures.
