Ummm, plain station wagons and mini vans don't have rallies in their genes and AWD. That subbie in the pic, is quite capable of taking on off-road situations; I'm not talking rock crawling, but I have seen them in pretty crazy places.

Yeah, he also had a shovel and an axe on the roof rack.

Every chopped down a tree with an axe? If he had a chain saw, I'd believe he was going somewhere, but axe - it's for show. Arguably the biggest poser-mobile, ever. He later put a lift and tires on it, but the U.S. OBW's don't have a low range and none of them had locking differentials.

^ Could have pulled off the "look" without the tacked on hood scoop. I've seen plenty of Range Rovers set up the same way that look like they've never left the mall parking lot.

In addition to the non-functional hood scoop, there's the snorkel, not sure if he actually punched the fender or if it's also a glue-on. And the tow hook is attached to ???? The guy was trying to sell it, not sure if he did.

I went to the "Wicked Big Meet" - the big Subaru gathering - in 2009 and there were some "interesting" cars there that undoubtedly would also have offended MiteyF's sensibilities.

And then some legit cars like the SOA rally cars.

    Old school Subaru mudder.

And a stock-appearing Forester that had a complete STI mechanical swap.

The rally Justy looks like a blast, and the STi Forester would be a great sleeper.

Do I see a Weber carb and air cleaner sticking out back?
    What year?
I think anyone that can rock an old car as a daily driver is cool.

Yup, Weber progressive. She's got her hood back on now though.

I wish I could say she's my daily, but my Strom and DRZ take that title. With the engine she's got in her now, I can't really afford to drive her every day :D Although she still gets out quite often. She's no garage queen!

For a while Dodge made no SUVs and Jeep made no trucks- this was to prevent cross shopping between the two.

Now you have Dodge SUVs but no Jeep trucks (other than AEV Brutes)

Well, that Chrysler 300 was never a nice car, but dumping money into it so you can have a pretend blinded out Bentley - retarded

The bedazzled civic is a little more WTF than anything, certainly looks like it was done as a joke, the real WTF is who would spend that much time and effort on what is really (a stupid) one line joke

But a lot of people do it... It's quite often that I see a Bently or Rolls kitted Chrysler 300. Some of 'em are full boat and have to have LOTS of $$$ sunk into them.

    Pretty funny.

Funny like the '40 Ford kitted VW Beetles of the 1970s!

Wasn't really a stunner to begin with. I'm calling it a draw.

This thread is jumping the shark lately... I almost agree, but wouldn't even give him that much.

Cheap and just all-out not "NIIIIIIIIIIIiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice" cars that are altered with some artistic balance (even that Frosted Flakes Caprice) gets far more respect out of me than some monstrosities I've seen, so I'm calling just about all of the last few pages of pictures in this thread fails on the part of the posters.

    ----

Stop bumping this thread with inane cars that at least someone is paying attention to (as opposed to letting them rust away or just fade in the sun).

I should have unsubscribed a week ago when it hit me that the most recent postings have been sucking hard.
