    Hey GSGIRL! :wave

Nice report NickBee! Like the videos, and I'm sure my eyeballs will stop vibrating soon enough. :D

I feel compelled to comment on the Red's phenomenon though, before someone else's weekend is ruined. :evil Red's is a quaint little historic place in a town of the same description. At some point along the way they received some nat'l media attention and it snowballed from there. They have exactly the right combination of location, history and personalities that visitors want a Maine seafood shack to have. And they happen to have decent food.

Based on these media reports, people flock from all over the world to go there. You really, really do not want to waste your weekend inching through coastal Maine weekend traffic, only to spend another hour or two standing in line with hundreds of red-faced people with loud shirts and ugly shorts.

But here's the kicker: The famous Red's lobster roll is simply a toasted hotdog roll with a whole cooked lobster stuffed into it. If you can boil water and toast a roll, then go for a ride somewhere fun, buy a lobster and a some hotdog rolls on the way back and enjoy your weekend.

If you really must experience Red's, at least wait until after Labor Day. Just saying.

But at least I'm not bitter. :bluduh

    Hi Grace,
Be prepared to wait in a long line! The worst part of the trip to get home to Camden is going through Wiscasset. It's a great little town, no doubt, but it's 25MPH and you better stick to the posted speed limit.
Have fun at Red's, bring a hearty appetite, cross the street and sit on the inlet side for a nicer view.

They don't have hot dog rolls like that down here in the south but I always take a jar of Duke's mayo with me when I go north. FWIW, they sell kick ass lobster rolls in McDonald's in Bucksport, no waiting. Also, there's this little place south of Bucksport that is tops but with no line, really good chowdah.

Ya the vibration at different RPMs is due to the RC-51’s tank being rubber mounted. And My 1st thought after eating at Reds was – This should be easy to reproduce at home,,,, Granted it will be more work to pick the meat out of a lobster, but it won’t take an hour and ten minutes! Still was worth the experience!!! :lol3

I agree about reproducing that roll at home. As Alton Brown mentioned, there are great places to eat along every road we travel.

    Hi Dick.

Been to Wiscaset many a time but never stopped at Red's. Bagged out of going today. Had no desire to really ride inthe rain and then battle the Sunday traffic heading home. Yea, I am a wimp. But at least I got all my hedges trimmed at home and managed to get a bicycle ride in before it got too rainy!

    I soooo want lobsta though!
