Congrats al, so pumped for you guys! Can't wait to see this thread updated!
Welcome to Oz, Al and Christy. Warm enough for you????
damn, talk about a hollywood ending to the thread...congrats! i am sure that you realize how huge it is to be able to include one love of your life in another...
good luck to you both, hope to cross paths with you someday.
Check it out! "Some Jobs, Some Responsibilities, Still no Better Time"
I go away to a motorcycle rally for a few days and miss an announcement like this? Congratulations to both of you.
i'm looking forward to your new adventures in Aussie and hope you get time to cross the wee ditch to New zealand.
Thanks everyone for the congratulations! It's been a pleasure to introduce Kristi as my fiancee, and especially nice to receive all the positive comments from everyone else. Thanks again!
Anyone might have noticed that the new report is now found under Day Trippin, as it clearly has the feel of a blog
rather than a ride report. This type of report is not permitted in the Ride Report section, as we clearly haven't been riding motorcycles yet. Should the time come when we are traveling around AUS on a motorcycle, maybe it'll move maybe not. Doesn't matter.
Keep an eye out on the other report though as I'll update it as regularly as needed to include all the action! Hell if Kristi and I do well enough, easily enough, I might be able to convince 'ole Tommy boy (Tom Reuter) to get his ass down here as well!
Hey man! You're missin out on everything! Just kidding. Working holiday visas are easy to get for NZ too. We might have to stop by!
CONGRATULATIONS!! Good luck on EVERYTHING, I wish you both all the best!
Read this everyday over the last couple of weeks.
Have enjoyed it immensely!
I found it referenced in Lightcycles report.
There the Canadians from Toronto
who were on the same ship/ boat
going around the Darien Gap.
Really cool. Thanks.
I'll go to the Aussy report next.
Hey man! Thanks for reading the report. I had a great time creating it and writing it at the same time. Can you show me/link me to the reference in Lightcycles report?
The Australian report is more or less a blog. Hidden in the depths of the inmate section of this forum. I'm behind the times on it, and lacking with content. But enjoy it for what it is!
Thanks again for reading!
Hi Big Al,
I'm a big fan or you ride report and your positive outlook in the face of adversity. I enjoyed reading the entire report withmy 13 year old daughter.
As luck would have it, I'm gonna be in Perth on Anzac day with my dad and my wife's uncle. We land in Perth early in the after and will be riding out north the next morning (ending in Darwin on May 17)
If you you happen to be out betting on Two Up I'd love to buy you a pint.
The reference to your report
found in "Quit Our Jobs, Sold Our Home, Gone Riding"
pg 65, entry #966
I guess a link would help,
You know, It is a dream to ride like this. However,
I do what I can. I camped overnight a couple of times.
Look at this.... It'll only take a couple minutes.
Almost heaven, West Virginia.
I was working all day ANZAC day, but did have that afternoon off. It's a pity that I missed this post, but such is life. Have a great time on your way north riding to Darwin! I'll make it there and everywhere else before I leave Australia, but you'll beat me to it.
Thanks for the kind offer!
You have to start somewhere, and a weekend camping trip is just the ticket for many people. Looks like you had a good time!
