We were hell bent on Mt Mary pub's Pies but alas, no meals for lunch on Tuesdays.

So Gateshutter, TooTRoot, DRozzy, DRtrev & moi went to a magnificent lunch at Morgan instead.

Wow what a day from an early morning start the Temp was 9c as I was going through a valley to meet up at Gawler BP and by the time we got to Morgan it was a Balmy 32c, plenty of dust and the Occasional kangaroo. No salt bush mutton pies , so had to settle for the surf & Turf 24ks up the road , heres what I seen today .

I’ve been on holidays for a couple of weeks and was looking for a day out before going back to the office on Thursday, Not too many takers, being it a weekday, but Stu, PBee, Tootroot and DR Ozzy took up the challenge.

Met up at the Gawler BP this morning at 0800 and everyone was on time. Decided on a scenic ride to Truro and then on the Stock Route into Mt Mary for the famous pies.

All was going good until my Zumo started dragging me off course showing north instead of south. I had a look around for US military targets, figuring that someone was interfering with the satellites, but after giving it a shake it came good and we headed through some nice technical track into Truro for a cup of that famous coffee. Couldn’t have an ADV ride with a bakery stop, now could we?? Might as well have a Cornish pasty as well.....

“Don’t spoil lunch”, says PBee – “mate, I’ll have room for lunch, don’t worry”.

Into Eudunda for a top up for the DR and then Stock Route into Mt Mary.

Imagine our surprise to find out that they don’t serve meals on Tuesday!!!!!! Into Morgan for a counter meal.

Ended up being a good choice, with a great meal and fine conversation.

Blanchetown BP for some fuel and then pipeline tracks into the back of the Barossa. The clouds gathered, the wind blew up and it had all the hallmarks of a huge storm, but after leaving the NE crew near Williamstown DR Ozzy and I experienced just a few drops of rain before getting to Gawler.

Great day out, 370 kms for me, 22 kms per litre on the Tenere and a strengthening desire for a Saltbush Mutton Pie – one day!!!

Thanks for the ride and the company fella’s – enjoyed it all....must change that front tyre...

22km/l :eek1 Mate that tenereeee is a goood lookin bike & with that sort of economy I'm impressed.

That front tyre I'd almost call it a "Trials universal" type
Years ago when I had TT600/500 we put them on to go racing thru the hills & around Mallala on track days:lol3 .
So don't judge the bike too soon untill you put something decent on the front.

I've got a Metz Karoo & whilst I'm still looking around, it suits the 990 atm.
