Hey y'all. I just moved back to Huntsville (Monrovia) from a 5 year gig in the Pacific Northwet. Looking forward to discovering the local roads on two wheels, since I bought my first bike while I was in Washington. Here's my MTS 1200 at one of my favorite little spots along the Hood Canal, backed by the Olympic Mountains. [IMG]

Welcome back to Huntsville. Your Multistrada should be a great bike for exploring the local roads.

Welcome back. Spent a couple years staring across the Hood canal at those mountains myself before moving back here.

There's some truly great riding out there, but I'm glad to be home.

Looks like you moved back just in time to miss all the 40 year old college students throwing temper tantrums :lol3

No, that happened often enough while I was there. Glad to be out of that.

There sure is. Wish I could have enjoyed more of it but being a married E-3 buying a motorcycle was way down on the list of things to purchase.

Also check out the bamarides.com forum. Several rides posted up and a whole lot of local knowledge on there.

Besides being a blast and a great way to work on your riding skills, this is a great way to meet other riders form the area. All the cool kids will be there:super

Amazing. Vanessa and I were wondering if Chuck would be able to schedule the field again. Barring something major coming up we will be there and will try to bring some friends with us.

Did a little backroads exploring just North of the TN/AL state line, between Pulaski and Dellrose today.

I saw about a million HD today, but I also saw two ADV looking bikes on County Line today a little after 5. Aluminum panniers even! Speak up if you were in Madison!

Several times now I've seen a newer BMW R1200GS, blue and grey, on Douglass near Jeff Rd. out in Monrovia. Florida plate. Anyone on here?

This Saturday was a beautiful day, but I only had half of it to ride, so I headed just North across the Tennessee border to explore some backroads again. Somehow, I found myself just NW of Tullahoma, and saw a sign for the George Dickel distillery in Cascade Cove, near Normandy, TN. I've been meaning to get up here and check the place out, take a tour, so I re-routed and headed on over.

Didn't have enough time for a tour, but walked around a bit. It's a really beautiful place, way back in the hollow, not right on main street like JD in Lynchburg. They were gearing up for an evening concert off the front porch, part of the "Porch Sessions" concert tour series.

Of course, the visit wasn't complete without a couple of souvenirs. I bought a t-shirt, and a bottle of barrel select whisky :1drink

Definitely will ride back up at some point for a full tour.
