Gail: Good job! I'm looking forward to an extended trip report!

MapMaster: Bring it, baby! Pittsburgh is a righteous destination by me! Or any of Canada in between!

(No, stop, Squidmark! You freakin' loser, you've already snagged the tag three times, probably just to keep up with EC! Never mind that you went to college in the 'burg and need just one more little excuse to head out that way ...)

Ditto on the Squidmark comment. As they say... timing is everything. Wicked nice of the Mainers to help you out with miss eggy. As any Maine expat... we miss it. The SMIBs will be riding by end of August. Translab trip . May take the stud mill road back for more dirt and crash at my Dad's place in Augusta.

Have to say I thought the tag would stay a little longer. :lol3

In case you missed how it is on a sunny day.

Sorry, Gail. Thought it would, too but couldn't NOT let a fellow TORer in on the fact that the NA TOR was just up the hill from him.

MZ and I did a photo op there yesterday just for fun when we arrived. Tweren't gonna move it though.:lol3

Thank you, the VFR is not bad on dirt or gravel as long as it's not too deep and loose. It absolutely sucks in the mud though and I can't begin to describe the terror of riding it over sand.
    :eek2
EC and the others were afraid that it would sit too long :D.
Easiest tag run I've ever done even with the gravel - less than 1/4 mile - the grass almost grabbed me pulling out of the camp area though.
The weather at the camp was fine, but it must lie in a nice little rain shadow, cause everywhere else SUCKED! I went by a lot of unseen scenery on my way there and back.
I'll have to go back sometime to check it out when this thing called the sun is about.

So I'm getting to know this fellow a little bit (lots more history to read up on). He/she (hard to tell gender of an unhatched ovum) is a bit of a hardboiled character, but a great drinking companion. Doesn't drink much, listens to my lies (I mean stories) w/o interruption, and doesn't eat peanuts in bed. All in alll, a good egg. :D

    ps
    btw, who's chief pin?
    An ex-mmc(ss) nuc' is asking

Nuc' is only half a word, the other half isn't 'lear.

Lessee... retiring EOD as EMCS? Not sure if the 3MC was nuke or EOD or both, but either way...
    Yes, that pin is something.
But what it really means is that Dave will have some good stories over beer!

But I wasn't an EOD Tech. (Them guys is crazy, who walks towards things that go "Boom"??)
My last Command was with Navy EOD where I was the Maintenance and Material Management Coordiator (3MC)
(fancy name for making sure the guys in the field have the right instructions for maintaining their gear)

Love the people and work enough to stay on after retiring :D

Both or neither depending on the viewpoint :evil
    PCS - USS Sam Houston - SSN-609
That is not a typo, when I rode it, the missles were gone and it had been redesignated as a fast attack - tho we called ourselves a slow approach. :D
TAD to USS Florida - SSBN-728 for it's first patrol to see what boomer life was like.

Will check out the other links when on my own computron.
